Spotify introduced a new feature similar to Stationhead. Not available outside the U.S. yet.

Don't worry. You'll get three BabyMonster projects this year. And maybe even three Treasure projects.

Is Le Sserafim having a comeback soon? They've been quite quiet.

They confirmed preparations for their next comeback in March about two weeks ago.

414k from US alone and they still could not enter Global 200 is too fishy for me

Did Starship counsel the team behind Jimin's Who streams? :rip:

Spotify themselves hosted the U.S. streaming party :skull: It's not fraud like BTS.

how much money did they spend on babymonster and treasure?

i thought babymonster did "well" (?) in 2024 with sheesh and their album sales, and treasure did .. something? and did 2ne1's tour did thaT bad?

Well YG spent a lot on BM, they've had a lot of contents released in 2024, but obviously compared to BP, they are not bringing that kind of money in.

Same for Treasure who are not successful enough to cover the missing gaps in sales revenue.

I think 2NE1 tour would have brought in some money as it was an obvious cash grab (though YG booked some undersized venues), but it's clear YG has been desperate to get BP back to group activities.

They already closed down large sections of the company so they need the money. It's interesting that there have been no takeover rumors though.

The way y'all are obsessed with Global charts

Cause this is a global pop forum?

It has probably been in their best interest to keep a low profile lately. While Crazy did well internationally, it was not well received in Korea and the group has been caught up in scandals, which damaged their image to the public.

It will be interesting to see how HYBE tries to navigate that going forward and whether the negative image has gone down. Competition has been tough between aespa, NewJeans, IVE and (G)I-DLE, but LSRFM's latest comeback didn't really help them keep up.

LE SSERAFIM may have faced setbacks domestically, but Bang PD has always prioritized global success over local performance. i don't think that domestic underperformance is a major concern for them right now.

LE SSERAFIM was always intended to target international markets as Bang PD's first girl group. Even the tension between Bang PD and Min Heejin reportedly began when NewJeans surpassed LE SSERAFIM globally especially on Billboard, proving that the focus was never on domestic achievements.

When comparing the global performance of 4th generation girl groups in 2024, LE SSERAFIM is clearly in the lead especially in Japan and the US, which are the two biggest music markets in the world

I'm not sure LSRFM's "global success" is that huge, that they can completely disregard performance in their home/domestic market. We are not talking about a BP situation here.

Also if that were the case, HYBE would be focusing on much more touring, on the back of this "global success". Yet aespa and IVE are way ahead in terms of that and had way more success on that front in Japan and the U.S. too.

You do have a point, especially in the touring department

Lets be real, it is absolutely ideal to have a strong fanbase at home, especially when they've only had 4 comebacks in their career. Hoping the next comeback will be an easier listen and draw some locals back in - 2024 was pretty awful for the domestic fanbase. So many of the Korean fearnots on twt I followed went inactive ages ago :skull:

Crazy did really well globally for how badly received it was in Korea - still the most streamed Kpop group song on Spotify as of 2/3. Mystifying how HYBE put them up for a Coachella stage but not a single show on western soil :rip: Rumored to be happening after the next comeback.

It would have to be a group 4+ years in; kinda wish Dreamcatcher would shift gears to serve it up for the one time, it's definitely in them
