Just do what she actually wants/desires to do musically or retire. She'll probably never truly get any real tangible success again.

 

She isn't good at reading the room and also plenty of Pop fans are against her in general, so it's a losing battle at this point. She also doesn't seem to have a good ear for hits anymore (like most veterans at this stage) so altogether trying to do things for the goal of success or redeemed public perception is a waste of time.

She'll do what she feels like tbh. Maybe finally an acoustic record.

Release that acoustic album she's been talking about for decades and then call it a day, I guess. 

Just cancel the project at this point

American Idol + Vegas residency + an own TV/talk-show, and she would've been set up nicely for the next decade.
