Since Midnight was extremely misleading with the cover art, which tier do you think TTPD will fit quality wise?

Personally I didn't love Midnights - there were aspects of it I liked and if she could infuse the highlighted moments of it with something similar to reputation I'd love that.

its quality will be in the pits along with midnights if jack antonoff had anything to do with it.

Interesting title but I don't think it will top Folklore and Evermore. It will be better than Midnights though. Taylor regressed hard AF with Mid

From best to worst

High quality: 1989, Folklore, Evermore, Reputation

Mid quality: Red,  Midnights, Lover, Speak Now, Fearless

Low quality: Debut

TTPD will be high mid, below red above Midnights.

No clue, but I do think it will be better than Midnights, so at least mid tier.

Midnights cover art is literally just her face looking into a flame, how did it mislead you?

I know the rest of the photoshoot had people divided but it's just her pondering life, looking pretty in dimly lit rooms with the aesthetic matching perfectly what the music videos were gonna be like. :dies: The album is largely moody with droney synths so even the sound matches what I would imagine staring at a wall at night would feel like.

Definitely top quality.

EDIT : Wait, I just read that Hack Katastroff has produced it ! Mid :biblio:

Reputation is low quality.

OT: I'm trying to keep my expectations low but not to the point of being pessimistic so I'll say mid quality, in between SN and 1989

debut is low tier

How? It's only low tier for those with an irrational bias against country. It's a charming and strong introduction to Taylor Swift filled with great moments and extremely underrated compositions (especially considering she was only 15-16 when writing them, even younger for some songs). The five singles were all top-tier picks and their success in the country sphere played a crucial role in setting the stage for "Fearless" ' pop crossover.

It might not have the career-defining highlights or the more complex and intricate songwriting of other projects, but its consistency makes for a much more enjoyable listening experience compared to OP's low tier picks "Lover" and "Midnights". I for one much prefer cute but forgettable and generic tracks like "The Outside" and "A Perfectly Good Heart" rather than the frustratingly juvenile and pedestrian lows points of these two projects.

If it turns out to be worse then Midnights :deadbanana2:

Not expecting red/folklore quality, but at least SN/1989

GODnights sweetie i'm so sorry they'd put you in the same tier as loser

lyrically, it will be a masterpiece I fear

sonically, if I can make it through a full listen unlike snoozelore/more then that's a win

I honestly can say with confidence that the cover was serving everything but what she delivered on the album :skull:

I refuse to vote in your poll because Speak Now should be top of the top tier list. My guess is middle tier. I'm desperately hoping it's better than midnights though.

the midnights slander in here has to stop

rep and mids are her best bop album, the nighttime album just hits harder than the daytime album 19katy9 and loser.

The sooner you realize that the better.

Back on topic, no matter what production, her lyric and melody alone can make it the best album of the year.
