Yes the chorus is annoying but every other part of Focus is pop perfection down to the fantastic MV and choreography

 

Ariana was serving icon in Focus. Problem is dated as a song and a boring MV

Focus chorus is way too annoying

They're both not exactly career highlights, but Focus is effectively unlistenable due to that abomination of a chorus. Also, Iggy slayed a bit on Problem.

neither song is Ariana's best. she has many songs (and even singles) that are better than both Focus and Problem

No, Focus is basically a watered down version of Problem. Both songs are kinda annoying with those choruses tbh.

Focus was simply Problem 2.0. Releasing what was essentially the same songs as two leads in a row (or what we thought was a lead) did not go unnoticed by the GP. Also, iggy’s verse on problem was a bit of a slay. 

Agreed. The chorus of Problem is more pleasing to the ears than the chorus of Focus, but everything else about it is an improvement from Problem.

Focus > Problem so yes

At the end of the day the actual song and especially the chorus determines if a song is good enough to be a hit, no matter how good the music video is

I still don't like Focus tbh. The only way I've actually loved the song is in this mashup.
