10 years ago today, Britney Spears released her 8th studio album 'Britney Jean' in the United States. It sold over 1.6 million units worldwide (source: Chartmasters) and is certified Gold by RIAA. It sold 107K copies in its first week in the USA. At the time it was the fastest female album to go #1 on iTunes US, doing so in just 19 minutes.

Not as bad as Britney fans make it out to be

A shame it’s an abomination and a stain to her discography. Completely unlistenable considering she isn’t even singing on most of the songs.

Half the problem was her team trying to market this as a personal album. They should have just gone full force with the Vegas theme and owned that it was a party album.

 

It wouldn’t have made the album better, but at least it wouldn’t have been a lie.

It was a cute little album. Don't Cry, Passenger, and Hold on Tight are my faves.
