Can Adele be massively successful again ?

Featured Replies

Adele's fourth album underperformed compared to her two massively successful albums (25 and 21). Easy on me had a successful chart run but has slowed down since its release and the 3 other singles didn't perform as expected. We were all expecting something different for Adele "30" but she decided to go down the route she's most known for: ballads. Can Adele 34 debut with over a million again ? What sound do you expect for her next album?

If even 30 didn't why the post 30 album should?

Anyways yeah she can still have big global hits.

not massively. her next album is either going to be the biggest commercial failure ever or debut with less units than 30 but outchart it in the long run

she would have to build a proper campaign around it not relying on hype alone. before 25's release she actually performed several album tracks on different tv shows. also keep it off streaming, but it is possible

I’d say she still is. You don’t need to be the number #1 artist in the world to be massively successful.

I don't think she cares

this

she just doesnt think like the other chart-obssessed pop girl

Adele never really cared to be that big. It’s one of those things that happened.

people thought taylor couldnt be massively successful after reputation and look how that ended. adele can become a massive force again with ease

I still think if she released a dance song it would be a massive epic blockbuster unprecedented megahit.  I’ll die on this hill

They would need to put a Taylor type of campaign around it. 100 album versions, remixes, payola, etc.

she needs to switch up her sound but i don't think she has the range :coffee2:

she is organically successful, so yes..

Adele herself doesn't want the level of popularity she attained during 25.

30 is a very personal album on a very sensitive topic (divorce), which most of the GP can't still relate.

OT : Depends on her next release. Personally, I would love her to release a Christmas album next year, that would give her momentum, for her next studio album. I don't know if it would debut with 800k units like 30 though, but still big enough than other MPGs first weeks.

Adele is massive and recognized for her talent in every corner of the world.

No she doesn’t put effort

Her peak was more of a casual connection she had with the masses

She never intended to be that big

It won’t happen again since she’s not ambitious.

She just got unintentionally lucky

No, because it's evident she doesn't the whole fame thing and she's not ambitious so we'll have to deal with half-baked eras from now and on.
