  • It's not like he needed to come out, and I mean that in a good way. We shouldn't feel the need to come out because it's none of anybody's business, but if he felt comfortable by doing so then good for

  • Not “possibly” with a male lover.     Anyway no one is doing that

Anyone who listens to his music already knew. What a devastating post to cap off an absolutely horrible year for him. I can't believe he was able to make such an amazing album despite everything

Oop wrong thread lmao

im going to listen to the new album with my boyfriend tomorrow and I can’t wait

hes the most innocent soul and the way all of this trauma has happened to him especially this year is heartbreaking

oh no :doc: that was such a sad caption, I hope he has time to heal

how heartbreaking, but how wonderful that they had that kind of love. :heart2:

This album is a beautiful memorial to his life. I hope Suf continues healing.

It's not like he needed to come out, and I mean that in a good way. We shouldn't feel the need to come out because it's none of anybody's business, but if he felt comfortable by doing so then good for him. Such a sad thing to lose a partner in such a young age, but it's also beautiful how much love he has for that man. May he rest in peace and I hope Sufjan is surrounded by love in this tough moment

Devestating. :cries:

I am a bit curious, though. Do we know if Evans died suddenly, or if he was ill for a while? Because the album does kinda have processing-impending-death vibes. :dancehall3:

:cries: Javelin is a beautiful album. I really hope next year is a better one for him.

His music is so beautiful, I cannot imagine how tough it will be listening to this album.

It really has been a horrible year for Suf - his partner passing away and him getting a terrible illness out of nowhere. I hope he can heal and find happiness again.

I heard rumours before Evan’s passed away that they had broken up, which is probably why Javelin feels like a breakup record to me. I don’t think there’s anything on here that directly touches on the death of Evans, more so just the “death” of their relationship. Of course, when you’ve been with someone that long and this happened so close after I can see why he is still calling him his “partner.” It’s semantics really, and speculation. Just extremely heartbreaking in any case and I really hope he is able to take this album as his closure and doesn’t feel the need to provide anything more for the fans who no doubt will crave another Carrie & Lowell more explicitly about the loss of his partner.

I haven’t listened to his music but the way everyone talks about it has made me curious and want to sit and take some time to get into it. I probably will today now after reading this post. This is absolutely heartbreaking and all my thoughts and love are to him and the family of his partner, Evans. :heart2:

I already know @Buddy ass is already up there bothering him for unreleased Sufjan scraps :dies:

this just made me so happy and sad at the same time. happy because he's finally free and out (im so proud of him), and sad because of his deceased partner.

He's an incredibly talented and beautiful artist whose music will forever mean the world to me

I went to the early listening session of his latest album Javelin last month, splendid album. He's had it rough for the past few years now, I wish him peace.

Stop spouting this dont ask don't tell nonsense. We don't live in a post sexuality world. It's naive and dangerous.

OT: I wish him all the best.

What a year he has had ! Wishing him all the best going forward
