Meh song, stunning video

Poor use of such a well known sample. Crap really.

The song is fine, but I can't take the sample seriously since Katy Perry did the 'Shooting Stars Challenge' in her Swish Swish music video

I definitely think it's a grower. I was extremely underwhelmed my first listen, but once you get used to how the sample is used, you appreciate the production. Rush is obviously better, but this is not a bad follow-up single at all. What helps is that it has a fantastic music video, and this is the most clear we've heard Troye's voice. I feel like Troye's singing has also improved since his EP and Blue Neighbourhood days (not that his singing was ever godawful). 

 

I'm still excited for the new album, but I really hope the "slower" songs are not ballads. If they're like the second single, I'll be somewhat happy. It'd be ideal if the album was as fiery as Rush, but beggars can't be choosers.

there are only 2 ballads (and one of them is my favorite song on the record )

 

 

As an American, I literally have never heard the sampled song before outside of that one meme, so it doesn't bother me as like overused or anything, but watching the video did make how jarring it comes into the chorus production more apparent to me. Now all I can think of is the meme when it the chorus hits. 

 

The video is beautiful though.

Really good tbh the chorus is stuck in my head after just one listen and I remember it happening with Rush too.

really excited for the album

I like the video but the song is a no from me. I thought they could have been more creative with the sample instead of just slapping it there. I was quite excited for this after Rush 

mmm it's a no for me. He wanted another viral moment so bad. 

This is GREAT!

People are so harsh on Troye.... the song is good, yeah the sample is a little abrupt, but its still a bop and the video is phenomenal
