Anne-Marie who is often disrespected and called out for being a flop and compared to Bebe, Ava, Zara, Rita etc. just scored the biggest opening album numbers yet with her 3rd album UNHEALTHY! The album debuted at #2 in the UK and her single with Shania Twain is serving longevity & stability at #22 this week. 

 

 

Why isn't Anne-Marie fading like most of the UK girlies? On her 3rd album and keeps getting booked, scoring big hits, important collabs, becoming an acclaimed live performer etc?

I mean, yeah, that's kinda impressive to me that she has the fanbase strong enough to get that high peak album (almost #1). In comparison:

 

- Zara: Poster Girl #12 UK, struggles to release albums 

- Bebe: Bebe N/A UK, bombs with anything that isn't a David Guetta collab

- Ava: D&D #11 UK, all the singles bombed in the UK since The Motto

- Rita: Y&I #6 UK, her last top 20 single in the UK was in 2018

 

Even Jess Glynne who used to run UK is not even CHARTING at all with her latest singles serving OUT-OUT.

 

Meanwhile AM just scored a #2 UK album, had 3 Top 20 Hits in the last year: Psycho, Baby Don't Hurt Me and Unhealthy. 

 

She also keeps getting booked for the festivals, has an outstanding reputation among the festival fans as a performer and consistently releases albums every 2~ years: 2018-2021-2023 that she promotes with her hard work (remember how lazy Ava is for example). 

Outside of releasing music she's worked consistently in radio and TV, to the point where she's pretty much a household name at this point. The sheer amount of exposure she gets is enough to give anything she releases at least a modicum of chart success

I don’t know but she needs to tell Zara the secret because she deserves it more than any girl on that list!

I have no idea, but the song "you & I" from her latest album is really amazing. It randomly came on spotify and I was very impressed.

Her earlier releases were my favorite. Peak from her first album is one of her best tracks to date. It brings me to tears sometimes.

The kissed vinyl were only 400 and no one buys digital albums anymore. The main bulk of Anne-Marie's sales were CDs.

This and Then are her best songs. I don't know what happened afterwards, but she's a sweet girl, so it's cool to see her clinging on to the charts.
