Katy Perry - Prism cover.pngCover artwork of Taylor Swift's Lover

Both albums weren't received very well by critics or fans especially after coming from mega albums/eras (Teenage Dream & 1989) but which is the bigger era, better era, better chosen singles, better MVs, better album?

Lover was well received by critics.

It wasn't well received by fans, but it was much better received by critics than Reputation.

Katy gets the singles for Prism lol

Lover gets everything else! I like Katy but she's never written a song quite as deep as The Archer soooo :gaylorcat1:

Prism single defo but everything else Lover

As someone already Prism should have been an EP

Tracks 1-8 on Prism, outside of Birthday, are very strong. The rest of the songs, outside out of Double Rainbow, are decent at least. Meanwhile the majority of the songs on Lover are very underwhelming.

The singles on Prism were way better than Lover's as well.

On the MV side they are very comparable with Prism having the slight edge for me.

Definitely this.

1. Roar

2. Legendary Lovers

3. Walking On Air

4. Unconditionally

5. Dark Horse

6. This Is How We Do

7. International Smile

8. Ghost

would be a very strong EP

imagine saying that This Is How We Do and International Smile are better than Choose Your Battles, Spiritual, It Takes Two, This Moment or By The Grace Of God

y'all just want mindless bops. the second part of PRISM is some of her best material and showcases very mature songwriting that Katy isn't really known for but she did great especially on the mentioned tracks.

Roar vs I Forgot That You Existed

Legendary Lovers vs Cruel Summer

Birthday vs Lover

Walking On Air vs The Man

Unconditionally vs The Archer

Dark Horse vs I Think He Knows

This Is How We Do vs Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

International Smile vs Paper Rings

Ghost vs Cornelia Street

Love Me vs Death By a Thousand Cuts

This Moment vs London Boy

Double Rainbow vs Soon You'll Get Better

By the Grace of God vs False God

Spiritual vs You Need To Calm Down

It Takes Two vs Afterglow

Choose Your Battles vs ME!

+ Taylor gets one more point for Daylight

So:

Prism: 12

Lover: 10

I like both albums but it looks like I revisit more of PRISM overall than Lover.

PRISM had better singles while Lover had better videos.

A score of 79 on Metacritic is a good reception by critics.

Diamonds and Dance Floor also got a 80 on metacritic - whats your point?

As a swiftie, I can confidently sayt that Loser is indeed Taylor's worst album by a mile. Prism is better than it solely for the fact that it doesn't have ME!, YNTCD, IFTYE, or INTHAF.

My point is you said it wasn't well received by critics which is untrue.

This Moment instead of International Smile could work too. By The Grace Of God is good too, but I like This Is How We Do better.

Roar vs I Forgot That You Existed

Birthday vs Lover

Walking On Air vs The Man

Unconditionally vs The Archer

International Smile vs Paper Rings

Ghost vs Cornelia Street

Prism has higher highs so overall it.

And nothing as low as the pitiful ME!

With 4 reviews :priceless:

The first half of PRISM kinda stomps on A LOT of girls albums, but Lover has Miss Americana, the archer, the man, false god and afterglow

ugh ya know it just depends on what you’re in the mood for but it’s a toss up for either
