OP - all I know is that the good songs like Falling Free, or Love Spent do not get enough recognition due to them being on an album that has such a bad rep lol

i think it's overhated, the album has too much songs and lacks of concept which makes it sound kinda messy, but there's still many bops on it.

Its got some bops for working out to and then a couple cute ballads thrown in plus the concept is ace

Hard Candy is a the misunderstood album. MDNA is half really bad and half bops but still pretty generic

It has some great songs (Masterpiece, Im a Sinner, Falling Free and Girl Gone Wild) but the rest is either mediocre, extremely dated or straight up bad (Bday Song and Superstar are her worst songs, for example).

Rebel Heart too but the melodies were stronger. It had some genuinely good choruses

ive tried to get into this album a million times but its just a bad album. im addicted and the singles are good tho

i am an MDNA fan but im not sure if 'good album' is the right term

 

it's salvageable. you gotta delete the more generic songs first

u may be right but i actually appreciated it more once i contextualized it as a divorce album, it wasn't marketed that way at all

You have to be a production lover to appreciate MDNA. It is great for the instrumentals, and lacks in the lyric department in some songs i.e B-Day Song. All of the songs are fantastic with headphones on. The album suffers from the expectation of great lyrics, however EDM is not the best genre for lyrics where the main focus is the instrumentals.

 

This song is one of the top 10 songs in her discography, the production is perfect, the outro is epic and the lyrics are fantastic for a song aimed at making you move. It is perfect from back to front.

 

Falling Free is a great song

Oh she def had a point of view going into it which I liked. The execution is just sloppy. 
 

Also must say William Orbit had no business working on a Madonna/any album in 2012 

It’s a bad album. Horrible producers tbh. She should’ve collaborated with Max Martin or even Red One.
