It’s ok. I’ll forgive the lack of production cause it’s a demo. My main issue with her is her vocal tone and delivery. I know she’s a soft singer all her songs her voice sounds monotone. Janet and tinashe are soft singers but their vocal delivery takes their songs to another level. They sing more passionately and with attitude. There is no punch to her vocals even with this sassy song. She sings like she’s bored

 

her best songs still are wild side and waves. She has yet to top those masterpieces

It's smooth and subtly catchy. It wouldn't be a big breakthrough hit, but it could do ok. I think between this and Wild Side she was kind of finding a sound. Not a particularly distinctive one, but a sound nonetheless. It's definitely not weak enough to explain why she preferred to shelve it and not drop anything for over a year.

According to insiders, she was actually pushing for this song to be released but RCA wanted her to release a blinding lights 2.0 song last year after Fair so I don't think it's only her fault. It's definitely both her and RCA.

 

I thnk this is just the demo but I can't wait for the one with the full production is out. Sounds super catchy.

A lot of people here were rightfully worried when she signed to RCA lol Normani has her issues, but that label also has a long history of doing the gworls wrong. I hope if it’s a label issue she gets to go without a major Jojo type of struggle that will make sure she will only drop her debut when shes 32 lol
