EOM showing great longevity. Adele gets another mega smash surprised?

Featured Replies

Everyone loves to say she is a flop and all these days but I don't see other female acts pulling these kinds of numbers

EOM is doing over 1.2m and the album is over 1.5yrs+ old.

And EOM is not only the smash. SFTR is doing around 1.3m daily

She also has 6 solo 1b+ streamed song. Soon to be 7 with MYFML

I think her streaming success is underrated on atrl.

Good for EOM, but I feel like this will only make her next lead to be another ballad like that again :toofunny3:

And to be fair idk if an upbeat track would do better than EOM.

A lead like SFTTR or SkyFall would be :jonnycat:

Adele has a few songs that are massive on streaming. Her issue is that her catalog is pretty small and the deep cuts are mostly doing mediocre numbers. Easy On Me doing 1.2M daily streams after one year and a half is really really good, but the rest of the album combined is doing also 1.2M, and that's not good at all. With 4 albums you can't expect her to be doing +20M streams daily, but she could do more than the 10M she is doing currently.

EOM has smash hit & future classic written all over it, one of the most timeless sounding songs released recently

Season 2 Lol GIF by Insecure on HBO

I don't think anyone is surprised tbh. Easy On Me is what saved 30 from being a complete disaster.

It's a great track, so no surprises at all. All Night Parking deserves it, though.

1.2m for the rest of the album doesn't sound that bad to me. The album is 1.5 year old, most of the songs are very long and non-replay friendly and only one of the other tracks was pushed as a single.

MTE, why are people quoting that post and laughing? :biblio:

EOM and the whole 30 era is nowhere near the flop people like to pretend it is on ATRL. Just because Adele isn't destroying everything the way she did with 21 and 25 doesn't mean she's flopping. So no i'm not surprised by her numbers, she's still a massive artist.

Given how meh it is compared to her other leads and even some of the other album tracks, kinda. OMG would have slayed.

This underperformed compared to her other smashes but it’s still bigger than most of our faves singles from recently

Well, we already know EOM is a mega smash. The drags were only because the rest of the album didn't hold up to its lead single, and also the way the album was an underperformance compared to her other albums.

Underperformance =/= Flop tho

EOM is still a hit anyways

EOM was a solid hit not unlike Deja Vu or Kiss Me More.  It just was not a mega hit which is perfectly fine.

Also, one can say that 30 as an album was a substantial underperformance without people thinking it was a flop.

EOM was absolutely a mega hit though.

Ok.  call it whatever you want to call it.  It is still in a category below hits like As It Was, Stay, Levitating, Blinding Lights, or her own hits like Hello, Someone Like You, and Rolling in the Deep.

This

Not really surprising—some people have just gotten too accustomed to Blinding Lights-type runs and like to use catastrophic language when a song doesn't have a Blinding Lights-type run, lol. Ppl don't realize that songs with those types of really extensive runs at the top are rare for anybody to achieve, especially if a song debuts with a HUGE start at first (like Easy on Me).

Easy on Me and 30 were not the flops or disasters that stans said they were :toofunny3: No way an album that did over 800k in its first week "flopped"

EOM was a smash hit so no surprises. Just hope she doesn’t release another power ballad as a lead next time

it's bigger than Deja Vu, maybe = to KMM.

It's funny how a certain insecure fanbase calls this a underperformance when is bigger than the +150 songs their fave has released this decade. :deadbanana2:
