Cats are the GOAT 

I have a dog, I adopted her in October. She'd been stray in the south of Italy (huge problem down there, someone probably adopted her during the first lockdown just to have an excuse to go out and then abandoned her when she grew up, she's estimated to have been born in early 2020 so yea). I thought she was mixed but according to the vet she's an amstaff. Love our daily sunset walks in the countryside outside of my village

Dogs easily.  Hands down.  Dogs are friends, cats roommates.  

Ugh I mean dogs are more fun but they require sooo much work. Cats leave you alone but barely want anything other than food from you, plus their litter boxes are filthy. 

When I was younger I always preferred dogs, but as I got older I ended up preferring cats. I adore both, but cats are less like children the way dogs are and not as dependent. Their royal behavior and attitude is so entertaining to me I can’t explain it.

Same I still love dogs but my Cat literally takes care of herself and I dont have to worry.

I ask myself this question everyday and I can't choose. Both.

Can I have both?

Okay I have both and love both, and I know that dogs are typically the most popular answer, but I have to say cats. The amount of affection cats give is highly underrated, they are also generally easier to deal with and not as hard to take care of as a dog because they are less needy. But really, can’t go wrong with either. 

The ones that have been worshipped in different civilisations and yet in our modern times in Asia.

Cats always 

cats and it's not even close. dogs are too dirty, loud, dependent, obnoxious, and salivating. can be cute for an afternoon but i don't want to be stuck caring for what is essentially a baby for 15 years. 

To be fair, including "apartment in the city" might make the answers more biased towards cats. Cats generally don't need as much room and also don't need to go outside. Dogs would do better with a larger area and yard to play in.

 

With that being said I'm cats all the way, I just relate to them more. Dogs are too much for me and I don't prefer kittens either although they are cute. My ideal pet is a cat few years or older who will obviously play and run around, but mainly likes to snuggle and be pet.

Literally this exactly, I was so jealous of my friend getting her dog when I was younger and when my parents brought a cat home, I was furious. Turns out, even if they're b*tching sometimes, if they like you, it feels much better than dog liking you

The hate from the girls against dogs in atrl is weird yet they are the most popular pet in the world, atrlers lose again. 

 

Not some of u talking about dogs being filthy when even stray dogs - even though we don't have them where I live - will still smell better than a human if left without a shower for a few days and indeed the most awful smell I've ever encountered came from a human so I don't understand the arrogance. 

 

Both dogs or cats need to be bathed on a regular basis, the amount of bacteria that cats take in from the litter box is concerning despite all the products that are used to prevent that.

 

I love both and while the cats win for being more self reliant, for those who are just too lazy, dogs still win for even more reasons, they are intensely loyal, more social, easier to train, better for children, cost less, provide unconditional love, they are always happy to see you, their reaction when you come back home worth more than anything ur cat can give u on their happiest day...

 

It's true cats are quieter when it comes to just making sounds, but when it comes to actions that's another story. 

 

Dogs are used on police forces to sniff out bombs, drugs and dead bodies. Cats are too stupid for that. But you might not know dogs are now being used to help

diagnose diseases before they spread too far. Dogs our protective gods and cats are their little angels..

I'm a cat person. But dogs are very cute too.

both are cute but smelly and messy. i'd rather a bird or fish. but for now ill stick with plants lol

Cats definitely. Their personalities are so complex and entertaining lol dogs are great too though
