Nope, she's definitely an icon of the 00s, and for being the voice of a generation such generation were quick to drop her the moment we entered the 10s. She got a cute run though

She is the artist with less following out of her peers, the fact that people mostly know her for being a great singer and not even that was important enough to guarantee her a long lasting and successful career. She is an icon of her time of course, but not even an icon for pop music.

She is not someone the GP nor fellow artist care enough. Fighters claim she inspired Dua Lipa and yet she's not following her, I mean, even P!nk has more followers than her. For being the voice of a generation, said generation was quick to leave her in the past.
