Does Britney have a classic album?

Featured Replies

Britney has a classic album (Blackout) amongst the stan community, and even some critics like at Rolling Stone. But the album has not charted since 2007/2008. In fact after the massive exposure from Free Britney, documentaries and new music, still none of her albums charted. Britney has some classic songs like Toxic that saw a nice boost, but does she lack that one classic album?

You can look for classic/relevant older albums here:

Blackout is a classic. Led Zeppelin aren't on that list, neither are Daft Punk or The Beatles. Appetite For Destruction? Back To Black?

No, she’s an icon for no reason.

aka yes, tens of millions people ran to purchase her debut and sophomore album in flocks. We can argue all day about cult classics like Blackout or ITZ being legitimate classics, but these were albums that gave her second wave whether or not you’re a hater or not. She could have went down easy with her “downfall”, but no, she kept people talking with classic albums for the books.

Lmfao:ahh:……

She has no classic album. That’s why “one song” has 85% of the streams from her albums. Take that one song away & :rip:.

'Blackout' is indeed a classic amongst the pop music intelligentsia consisting of certain critics, savvy online gay music stans, and gay IRL tastemakers. As a result you will see Rolling Stone include it in its Top 500 Albums Ever (also because Britney is a big enough star that they had to include *something*), articles celebrating a retrospective, etc.

But to the general public the only thing they remember is "it's Britney *****".

I would actually argue '...Baby One More Time' or 'Oops!...I Did It Again' are her true classic albums to the GP. They contain her most iconic hits. Oops, Lucky and Stronger on the same album make a good case for Oops. Every millennial girl had that album on repeat in elementary school.

This

In The Zone has always been her best album. Blackout is half good half meh and Gimme More doesn’t even have a bridge, it’s just repeating for 3 minutes.

No, she does not :lmao:The Britney stans here can whine all day about Blackout, but that ain’t going to make it a classic

Idk what makes Blackout a classic album tbh but it's one of her best for sure. I would argue Ooops or Britney being her classic albums

People saying yes: If you call Blackout a classic, an album that failed to even sell roughly a third of the albums it tried to emulate (Loose, FS/LS) in the same climate, what do you call albums like Thriller, Back in Black, Darkside of the Moon or 21? :rip:
