5 #1 hits from the same album? It seems way harder now with streaming taking over, what do you think?

If we start consuming music in another way after the streaming era. 

All an artist has to do is drop 5 sporatic singles that go #1 and add them to their album.

It's only a matter of time before a label (Warner most likely lbr) decides to exploit it the way albums get padded with 100 pre and post release singles

I don't think so. The music industry is too different. Originally, eras were able to last 2-3 years because the GP's attention span wasn't so short. They didn't digest an entire album at one time like you do now with streaming. You'd have to drop 6 albums with fairly promoted lead singles because post album singles just don't go #1 anymore.

 

Or you just add all #1s from previous eras into one album and then get another. Someone will do that soon.

This. It's easier now than ever. 

It’s hard in streaming era, It’s very hard to achieve #1  singles post album release nowadays! People get tired very fast.

Cardi B could've if she puts WAP & Up on one Album and drops 3 more #1's

This. Just think if someone like Taylor pulled a Journals or something similar

If a big artist drops multiple singles that are actually all single material before dropping their album then they can do it with how the charts operate at the moment.

 

The charts change over time though. There will most likely be a time again when albums have multiple #1 peaking singles. Wether it be artists adopting my first option of dropping multiple singles before the album, or it be a change in music consumption and/or record label release strategies.

 

I was just thinking about Cardi B having WAP and UP, but no album yet, and she can easily tack those onto a future album. Only problem is she’s taking too long between singles and the album dropping in general, but she’s on the right track to have the potential to tie/break the record.

this, i think Taylor could do it if she wants to, Cardi B just needs 3 more for CB2 but Hot **** ruined the hype i think

Taylor is looking directly at this record as we speak, it's probably her next goal

No, Katy’s record of 6 #1s from one album will never be broken. Taylor’s lead singles do well but her follow-ups usually flop. 

Artists who usually debut at #1s like Ariana and Taylor and Bts (basically the ones with huge fanbases) can. But they have to release the singles beforr the album release which they wont.

well first off, getting multiple #1's is difficult as is. you'd have to have a huge peak to achieve that
