She could either be able to sell out shows a couple decades from now like Celine or she could be essentially a throwback act like Susan Boyle or Norah Jonee.

No, the physicals market is stable now  vinyls driven, the more popy her songs were the more streamed gonna be

Obviously especially if she keeps taking 5 year breaks and refuses to launch anymore singles outside of her lead

OMG exists, it just flopped...

Actually, 30 is only somewhere past 6 million real SPS units (no unsold shipments allowed) :deadbanana: It’ll take a very long time to reach 10 million at the rate it’s going. Almost unbelievable honestly :rip:

30’s first week sales posted a 75% decline from 25’s first week sales, so her next album would open with roughly 210k if it has a similar rate of decline. I do believe her next album will struggle to do 300k first week, but 210k does sound a bit low.

I guess we’ll find out in 2025-2030.

25’s first week was astronomical, you cannot apply the same decline to other albums.

She’ll probably sell 400k first week with a new album.

Yes, she’ll continue to decline if she doesn’t switch it up and show interest in her career.

So she will pull similar number to 30, more or less.

so she will get best selling album of the year :clap3:

But do you think she might outperform 30 by a good margin in the future? Like 8M-10MSPS.

30 sold 5M pure in 1 month so she must sell 15M to outperform 30

If she waits 6 years, she's done. I don't see her getting 21 success again but she could improve on 30.

The problem is that her promo is handsoff, she can't rely on her name alone anymore.

30 is at 6M SPS according to ChartMasters.

If she releases another re-recording then yes. She needs to stop play it safe and release something new.

i know but in reality it sold 5M pure in 2021 (according to IFPI)

I didn't know she released another single :rip:

IFPI includes shipments though.

Yes and she deserves it for mediocrely wasting the 30 hype on a lead single that followed the exact same formula as hello without creating anything new

idk, but 30 flopped soooo bad, how many weeks did it spent top 10, like 4? :skull:

Yeah if she keeps making same album over and over again. 21, 21 part 2, 21 part 3 is enough.

not this when Folklore part 4 is coming next month

obviously she'll decline but she'll still be more succesful than your average pop girl, that and it's practically impossible to reach 21 or 25 numbers again

I think her career with adopt like Gaga's did after Artpop. So she will pull similar number to 30, more or less.

I am sure most of us do know that Adele is not touching 25 numbers ever again. But do you think she might outperform 30 by a good margin in the future? Like 8M-10MSPS.

Why are fans so obsessed with numbers and streams instead of quality music?

She's still the best selling female at least she still has the best selling album of 2021 and she will still get it in the future

Yes, now she's just a millionaire afraid of working and lifting a finger when it comes to her own music :swan:

People really need to stop comparing Adele to the likes of Norah Jones and Susan Boyle. It makes zero sense. Adele was one of the defining artists of an entire decade. She’s a global icon and a household name at all ages. She has major celebrity power. Whether she will have more successful eras remains to be seen, but she will always be able to sell out large venues and tours easily even if she never releases another song.

This is one of the most hilarious and ridiculous things I've ever read on here :rip:

Her next lead would have to be massive straight out of the gate like Hello and she would have to employ some kind of strategy that would garner a lot of buzz. One of the issues I had with 30 is the promotional campaign. I hated it. It felt dated in the digital age. A bunch of 30s around the world, really? They should have just dropped her album Nov 2020 as a surprise release all started by a countdown on her website. That would have benefited her a lot more because she would have had a reason not to promote it. Lowkey, I think a 2020 release is what benefited Folklore.

Where Adele (and Columbia) won is most of her sales are physical; she outsold all of her peers within months with physical sales. Technically speaking, most people who would stream her album own it so they have no reason to stream it. Then there is those who don't care to stream it but certainly aren't going to buy it because they own some type of streaming service. Her music is not streaming worthy and she already knows that. She literally told Zane people wanted her to make a Tik Tok album for 14-year-olds and she refused.

Her flopping would be better judged if physical sales were still a thing. It's hard to judge otherwise because the fact that she sold as much as she in physical copies is nothing to sneeze at. Did she flop on streaming? That's hard to say because who expected her music to appeal to streamers? It should also be noted that she made more money off of music than her peers.
