The week Whitney released her album My Love Is Your Love. The album didn't even peak at Top 10 becuz of it despite having multiple smashes

• Prince died and many of his hits re-entered the chart, two even went top 10
• Drake had many tracks from Views charting
• There were huge hits charting, like One Dance, Panda, 7 years, etc.
• Beyoncé’s Formation album bomb
• Cant stop the feeling debuted atop with a huge first week of digital sales 
• Many hits by some ATRL faves like Work, Needed Me, TIWYCM, Dangerous Woman, Work From Home, Love Yourself, Pillowtalk etc.

Not necessarily busy, but Kylie Minogue vs Victoria Beckham on the UK Charts.

Wasn’t there a week in the 90s when Garth, Whtiney, etc released new records that was super loaded? I believe Whitney ended up debuting outside the top 10 back then…

1. IKYWT blocked by LOOH despite destroying iTunes.

2. Party in the USA being the biggest digital seller yet getting blocked by radio hits: Down and Whatcha Say. 
3. ME! blocked by Old Town Road.

when the Titanic Soundtrack blocked Madonna’s Ray of Light from going #1 in the US, despite Madonna breaking the record for highest first week sales for a female artist in history up until that point.

Inarguably these 2 which later became the top 2 best selling debut week in the history until Adele's 25 surpassed the record.

 

Utada came in first with 3M copies sold compare to Ayumi's 2.8M. Both ended in top 2 best selling album of the year with 4.4M and 4.2M copies sold. Distance and A BEST became 4th and 6th best selling album of all time in Japan respectively.

This one still hurts to this day.

Even with all the hype surrounding her comeback, she still couldn't surpass that damn soundtrack even with the best debut ever for a woman
