Why is there always a different standard for Normani? Why is she constantly getting lashed on here? If she wants to take time releasing music then that’s her right, I’m not sure why she’s subject to so much vitriol and hate on here?

Using "mid singing girl" as if Normani truly serves Beyonce vocals

 

Artists that have a place in stan culture are more likely to be dragged for things that those who aren’t. 

I guess Normani is the more current interest of the fans, so she gets commented

while..I dont see Ella making many waves/talks

 

(+Normani is just in that kind of situation..hyped to the high heavens and no album..drives lots of hate towards her)

The only Ella Mai song I know and like is a collab she ain’t in my mind or my playlists.
 

Normani is somebody I respect and have followed since day one so I am allowed to be disgusted at her collaborating with and co-signing a known  and unapologetic abuser of women.

If you have been lucky enough to live your life without abuse or domestic violence that’s great, but remember - it’s extremely common and the victims live in fear while perpetrators like Chris Brown go on to have careers. We all need to call it out, and my girl Normani doesn’t need him to be successful so this was a dumb move.

I like Normani (well used to) but....

 

Colorism mainly... but the Normani fans don't help her either. Point in case being this very tweet calling Ella Mai a mid singer when:

 

a) Fair was meant to be the artistic, soulful / acoustic / vocally highlighting song and it's only live performance was a lip synced to a backing track 

b) 95% of the (rare) praise she gets is around her visual performances, I've literally never heard a non-stan say anything positive about her singing voice (for a reason)

People are actually mad at themselves for allowing their OWN hype and perception of her career run wild. Normani’s actual output is not meeting these expectations so they’re lashing out because they wanted to be the ones that “always stanned for the next big thing.” They’re mad because “she isn’t releasing music! We’ve been stanning and waiting!!” Well, who told you to do that and have these expectations for someone who hasn’t even started their solo career?  Let me explain, I always see people saying “she could’ve been a main girl” based on what exactly..? They were already trying to create her career before it even started. People need to give it up and leave Normani alone. 
 

Poor thing is probably getting vocal lessons or taking classes to build an identity of her own and these mobs attacking her

This. I wish I could like engrave this on something because it's the root of the misery for both artist and stan base and the sooner people accept they were categorically wrong, the less embarrassing it's going to be for everyone.

To think that three years worth of releasing three songs that anyone could've released has resulted in them trying capping for Chris Brown of all people proves there's truly no turning back.

i think normanis and her's core fanbase are very different so normanis main audience would be fuming that she was in a cb video whereas hers fanbase probably wants her to collab more with him

She’s much worse actually. She liked a sexist Kid Rock tweet about Taylor Swift and tried to say she was hacked. She then went on a vacation to a Plantation and knowing the background of country music singers you know what that means.
