OMG. :biblio:

ATRL users are generally very racist and extremely biased against normani for no reason other than the fact that they need a black woman to tear down whenever they don't act in a way they don't expect stereotypical pop stars to do

there is worthy criticism but there is a lot of misogynoir as well.

i hate when people assume that black people don’t know when someone’s being racist…. especially bc y’all don’t hide it well

from taking every moment of normani being confident and then painting her out to be arrogant while stanning some of the most arrogant and pretentious pop girls in history :deadbanana2:

screaming about how normani is so untalented despite her vocal range and dancing ability while stanning any dancepop or pop-punk industry plant :deadbanana2:

i have seen people on this very site claim that the only reason people stan normani is because she's dark skinned with some going far to call her a “charity case”

I think there was always an element of racism to the hate Normani got. However, with her lazy release schedule (and atp, it's clearly her as well, not just the label), her choosing to work with people like Chris Brown and the inability for any of her songs to really make an impact, I don't think you can say she's being held to a higher standard. Releasing music is the bare minimum and she can't even do that.

Unfortunately, she's just never going to be the girl people wanted her to be. Time for people to accept that and move on.

I will also say too her fans are actually very weird and try to attack anyone who may have valid criticisms about her career, even when they come from a good place. So that hasn't helped her situation at all because she has one of the most annoying fanbases on Twitter, and she lacks a catalog to back up all of this to boot.

Hopefully there will be a darkskinned girl who comes along who really wants it and has the hunger and tenacity to make something shake.

Twitter gays ignore all the other R&B girls that have worked with Chris (H.E.R, Ella Mai, Summer Walker etc) in general even though they're more musically relevant.

They only talk about Normani on there, so it gets more attention when she announces to work with him.

Everyone else doesnt really care

They did? I dont remember :rip: The chartdata tweet for its Hot 100 debut and H.E.R's tweet for the music video are quiet

Anyways, they was dragging so much they made Normani #1 trending, which is a bit much:skull:

they did :deadbanana2:they also did on here and popheads

1. Obviously shes black and not lightskin which makes her less to tolerable to the non black audiences

2. Her audience is more pop than R&B, you will find more pop fans on stan twitter. That should answer your question

3. Her confidence. Nothings triggers racists than a confident black person:dies:

4. Her star power, agree or not. If she didnt have any sort of star power as her haters claim, conversations about her would be made.

5. Her talent. They see her potential and scared it would diminish their faves if its used on full force.

But I wouldnt call this a hate train. I've seen worse lashings from other pop girls, at the same time, her backlash is unprovoked 80% of the time
