I originally did not like the song and the video but the Ariana remix is actually great. She really added her touch to this song and made it a hit.

Technically Ariana Grande's #1s all debuted at the top. 

One of the best moments in my stan history. I still remember when they teased it on social media for the first time. Then later they gave me my favourite live performance of all time 

People really thought this was gonna be a one week quick lil remix for #1 

That performance is the epitome of talent. It's such an incredible collab!

Their version has been charting for a year and Ariana is credited for the whole run now (almost 50 weeks since she was first credited). So yeah no, objectively the remix is on par when it comes to success of the whole song.  

 

The OG was released on March 2020 and has 1B streams, the remix was released over a year later and is already about to near 800m streams. Two huge versions of one song, insane tbh.

Literally one of my favourite remixes ever. Abel and Ariana have such great musical chemistry, i love every song they’ve done together and i hope they give us a collab album one day. 

The remix is amazing - she made a perfect song even more perfect her harmonies
