The somewhat good news is that she was seen with Charli, Jim-E, and others after the Grammys! I honestly wasn't expecting her to be back in the U.S. for at least another month.

This TikTok account might be onto something here with the "50" which could be Friday 4th of April, and I want to believe that is the album date, but not when she was still recording the song as few days ago. Maybe an announcement is more realistic. Or perhaps 50 is a lyric or something.

Sticking with this prediction. If the album is coming out after August, she will probably say something before the anniversary of SP since people will be asking about the 4 year release cycle. 

Also, randomly Dev Hynes has been posting more to his ig stories showing photos and moments from the studio. They very clearly indicate being in London or at least the UK, so it seems like his part working with Lorde is done. I truly don't think he has a major role in the production for L4. At most I'd imagine some instruments, minor production for synths and drums, maybe creating loops or samples that Jim-E remixes. We'll see!

Hate to say it, but at this stage in 2013, Royals had already been released on Soundcloud, and on 8th March, they released it to online stores in Australia and New Zealand. Pure Heroine was released in September.

 

In March 2017, we knew she was going to be performing at Coachella, and Green Light was released in the US on the 2nd of March, 8 years ago.

Melodrama had a June album release.

 

Four years ago in 2021, we didn't know about Solar Power, but in March 2021 she was recording her music videos at Cactus Bay, Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The lead single was released about three months later in June 2021, and the album release was in August.

According to her ig info she's currently in Spain. She could be shooting a music video with CANADA, a creative production company based in Barcelona. Or maybe even creating the album cover with spanish artists such as Carlota Guerrero or Filip Custic. These are just wild guesses and I have nothing to back them up tho

Since she's spent most of her time in the U.S. this past month, I think wrapping up studio time. That transcribed voice note was from the end of January, with lyrics for one song just recently being completed. Unless she's now just writing lyrics over mostly finished tracks, there is still some tidying up to do. I'm guessing if she's close, maybe the end of this month for a video shoot at the earliest.

I hope you are right, but didn't we say this more than a year ago?

 

She was working in a studio in London mid 2023, did a mini tour of European festivals and came back to NYC and worked there almost until Xmas.

 

Then we had the Chateau Marmont photos from June 2024, and in July she was working with Fabiana Palladino. Then she posted a photo from Strongroom Studios in London.

 

 

It must be almost finished we said.

 

I still believe it's going to be in 2025, but I want to see evidence of something more than another studio session with Jim-E Stack. I'm still hoping your theory from a couple of pages back about L4 and L5 coming one after the other comes true.

It's dire at this point. 

That's why I was thinking the early London sessions didn't really turn out, or she scrapped a lot of work around the time that she sent her last email. Either it's been really slowly building, or she completely switched it up at the end of 2023. 

 

Trust me, I want nothing more than that double album theory to be true. But that might be the most delusional hope to have for an artist like Lorde. We can dream!

like literally every 2025 release so far ages quickly after sometime for me & makes me think can our savior release already so i can stop being underwhelmed and listen to real music....

My guess is there were two big changes so far which resulted in the long wait:

 

1. We know she was working on the album and writing even in 2022, but then she had a big break-up (which we know cuz she talked about in her email and how important it was for her) so of course album had changes after that probably

 

2. I think after Girl So Confusing Remix, she got influenced and wanted to record more songs for an already finished album, like to add some even more upbeat/clubby things. I think it was more in the vein of adding more songs, not like changing the entire album.
