Lorde - Ultrasound World Tour (Blood Orange, Oklou, Empress Of, Nilüfer, JP H & more)
The demand is kinda insane. I'm glad she put tickets for sale before the album because It's only gonna go up in demand. That being said, artists need to do actual fan presales. What is the point of signing up for specific dates if the presale code is the same for every single venue in the US. 43k ahead of me in queue for berkeley which is a 5k capacity venue. I'm lucky my friend was in the 100s for her queue spot and was able to get tickets.

Guess or Heavy Metal Lover: Better Song?
Billie's vocals on guess pmo, they just don't match the energy of the song and when I first heard it I genuinely thought they messed up the mixing from how quiet she sounded. Def not touching HML

Why does the GP not want to hear Beyonce ballads?
When was the last time she pushed a ballad as a single? I think she def could pull something out that would be a hit if she wanted to.

Artists that changed their career trajectory in 2020
I mean I think Gaga fared ok. Chrome had a top 5 hit, a #1 hit, and a sold out stadium tour attached to it (although that came 2 years later). I think her not promoting it kind of worked out because it's one of her weakest overall (the songwriting is great but it's just a little bland for a gaga album) and it allowed her to "live" like she mentioned she needed to do leading up to mayhem. She wasn't a winner, that goes to Doja, Dua, Megan, and the onslaught of 1-hit-wonder tiktok artists we got, but she certainly wasn't a loser. The biggest winner is Taylor though. Without folklore/evermore and the re-recordings I don't think she'd be anywhere near where she is today.

consistency and longevity
You don't get consistency if people don't want to tune into you time after time and they're not gonna listen forever if you keep rehashing old sounds, themes, concepts, etc. and don't prove you have the artistic chops to show growth (re-invention is not necessary if you can at least show growth). Like Gaga for example has spent the better part of the past decade proving her artistry extends beyond her early work and showing people just how talented she it. The GP has seen this side of her and now no longer just thinks of the meat dress. Mayhem is resonating with people because it sounds like she's back to her hit-maker self but she sounds different, more refined than she was a decade ago. And Taylor has also proven to have this sort of longevity. She hasn't diversified herself like Gaga has but she's stuck to her guns the whole way and people resonate with that. People get invested in picking apart her songwriting and learning her lore so she keeps people invested. Not every artist has the ability to do that. That's not a bad thing, there are plenty of artists who shine so bright early on but struggle later and they can still produce great music. But that doesn't cut it if they want longevity.

Is Gaga repeaking in Europe? Best selling Album in 12 years.
Regardless of what some of these bitter people on this site think, she's loved globally, she just has to remember there's a world outside of the US.

HDD: #1 Mayhem 223k
y'all it is never that serious... but anyways give it up for 223k!!! Lowkey doubted her after harlequin, thought lg7 would be more of a slow burn on the charts rather than a first week sales album but were we are

Scotland & Ireland: Mayhem #1
we can now forgive Ireland for the Irish times giving mayhem a 4/10

Do you think Gaga has purposely took inspiration from Taylor for HBDUWM?
Well yes ofc, hbduwm grew up in a LOVING household

Do you think Gaga has purposely took inspiration from Taylor for HBDUWM?
I don't think she's oblivious to the kind of music that Taylor makes and probably took some inspiration from her, but this isn't entirely new territory for her. To me this song is like a child of the cure and love me right that grew up listening to 1989 and emotion.

Songs your fave hates?
didn't gaga use money honey in her dj set at that one event a couple years ago? or was she set up

I finally realized and decided: 1432 is such a exceptional record

How do you feel about artists changing album covers after release?
If you're changing the standard cover after release it just shows a lack of vision you have for your own career. I think an over abundance of alt-covers too is also tacky unless they fit explicitly with the album's themes (i.e. the great impersonator). I do wish that by now spotify/apple music would just let you change covers to whatever alt cover you like on streaming
