Most songs are not sung in full and are are arranged completely differently and mashed up with the score. If you saw the clip where she sings with Arthur "Get Happy" she uses that voice a lot. Even the parts where she's belting and being showy are less perfect than Harlequin. There's a difference in how she sings in reality vs Arthur/Joker's delusions. It would be fine if she did a couple of poorly received movies if she was doing them more than once every 3 years. I know both projects had potential but Phillips and Ridley ended up putting out the polarizing mixed reviewed films they are known for. Hopefully she picks a better project next.
