It has to be a balance. As you said, she doesn't have that much to gain by pushing out multiple acting projects every year. It'd inevitably turn into quanity over quality. But she also has a lot to lose if she doesn't strike while the iron's hot and the follow up to a potential acclaimed box office smash event film happens 3/4 years later, and the follow up to that takes a couple of years... and then again... and then again.

 

She's already slowed down with studio music releases, which I'm fine with if the quality and vision is still there, so cutting down on the long waits for her acting projects makes sense. And it'd be stupid to potentially turn down amazing roles and auteur projects. She could do a big film/role every other year or so and take on the odd supporting role to show range. She could also dip her toes into prestige TV. WB owns HBO after all.

It's just that if she is planning on releasing an album and touring next year then I'm not sure how she would set aside months in her schedule to prepare for and film a leading role in a movie, so I could see her waiting to do that until the year after, which will inevitably make the movie's release the year after that. I just don't see how she would fit it into her schedule, unless she spreads her tour over multiple years. She's also in a pretty unique position as a relatively new actor, because even though it's technically good to strike while the iron is hot, Gaga is the type of established household name and has such a large fanbase that any project she does will attract a lot of attention whether it's next year or in five years from now. It's not like actors who have to make several movies back to back to keep up their momentum or they will essentially be "replaced" by whoever the hot new acting talent is. Sure, she will probably be inundated with offers after JFAD, but she probably already has been and has turned down a lot. I don't think her goal is to be constantly in a new hit movie every couple of years, but more to play the long game and build a respected and acclaimed filmography. I do think the occasional supporting role is also likely as that would probably fit her schedule, and we already know she's open to it since she was down for Bullet Train. Also I hate to be that person to speculate on this, but it's also very possible that she may want to start in a family in the next few years so that could change the timeline too, but I guess we shall see.

i think she has a decent music-film balance. past 2 eras been quite clear her schedule is:

 

- new album era promo begins

- promo ends, filming next project

- filming ends, starts touring

- touring ends, then ghost/vacation (mb vegas)

- movie is greenlit, actress campaign begins

- film promo & awards end, writes new music

 

if she dedicated more time to filming. she would have to forfeit something like touring.

first time I watched, I got emotional when they flashed GAGA on the screen, the power that that has, the influence that has, the international implic........

I'm still predicting that her professional schedule in the next few years plays out like this: 

2024: Joker, continue working on LG7

2025: awards season, LG7, and its accompanying tour. The next movie role probably gets announced too. 

2026: film next movie role 

2027: said movie gets released

2028: LG8 

Each year will probably also feature the inevitable few weeks of J&P shows in Vegas but I didn't feel like typing that out five times  

 

I think she'll tour stadiums again for LG7, and I think there will be more shows than the CBT too. But it won't have as many dates as Eras did for example, and probably a few less than Ren too (I'd guess in the 30-45 range).
