I think the next one will be a relatively smaller film, which won't have a grandiose announcement like JFAD. It will probably rumored or unofficially reported by cinephile media before the official trailer comes out.

Yeah I agree, Emma effortlessly won her Oscar tonight without campaigning and going on about method acting. If the academy likes the role and the acting, they'll award it. Gaga needs to tone it down a bit for Joker 2. 

Emma won because her performance was amazing, she barely did any campaign; all the narrative was around Lily, but it wasn't enough to overshadow the love Emma's performance received by the media, the critics and the academy.

I’m ready for Gaga to do something different after JFAD. Gaga doing a horror flick will feel a little safe. I would like to see Gaga in a comedy or even a Tim Burton film. Or even her doing broadway or a limited mini series after JFAD. I also think she can work well with Wes Anderson.

She could use LG7 as part of her JFAD campaigning strategy: appearing in media with LG7 persona contrasting to the role, keeping busy with music and taking a small step back from the front row of the campaigns.

We can only hope.  She just needs to tone it down slightly when she's giving interviews about her movies.  Maybe ditch the old-Hollywood aesthetic too during campaigns and premiers.  I still fear her makeup and hair from most of the HoG premiers.

As long as the performance will be loved and embraced she won't need to campaign at all this time, aside for the minimum, if anything heavily campaign seems to turn off voters especially lately, see Fadley indeed.

Oscars are not about actual merit most of the time. I think the main reason Emma won is the combo of ~auteur director, & the academy loves a certain type of ‘relatable’ actress (not even gonna go into the racial aspects). Gaga is too outlandish, too glamorous, not perceived as humble enough etc., to coast to an easy win like Emma Stone, J.Law, Olivia Colman etc. They threw her overboard for the non-descript likes of KStew last time, so I’m not expecting much. 

It’d be highkey iconic if Gaga’s Joker 2 campaign is a full press blackout. Like she does shoots for the trades/publications (THR, Variety, Vogue) but does no interviews. Shows up to the red carpet premieres (Venice, London, New York) and takes over awards season like she always does, but this time with strictly her star power alone. And most importantly gives those horrendous awards “pundits”, critics and Twitter Oscar “expert” losers 0 ammunition against her this season.
