Why do people think Rock is so far off for Gaga? lol

She's always had that rocker vibe to her, if anything country was a bigger shock than rock

like are people forgetting that Hold My Hand exists

Spoiler

I wouldn't blame them 2116164322__thumbEnjL7eIXcAsv_LIformatjp

It’s not 1998 anymore though.

None of these artists have iconic hits besides Taylor.

Gar already has plenty of hits, it's time to prove that she can be universally acclaimed too, even if she flops

One thing’s for sure, bloodpop is nowhere to be seen hence why this album will be good!

some of yall needa revisit Red & Blue + The Fame Ball. the rock influences been there since day 1 lol.

Industrial pop would be a serve. I’m not here for dad rock, which lbr is the direction Gaga would take a “rock album” in 2024 I fear.

She’s always been a rockstar at heart, that’s also what set her apart from her peers

BTW is infused with rock influence

Joanne too, I think Chroma is the only album that’s different from that but that’s also mostly cause she had no involvement in the producing area. But some of the chroma ball arrangements gave that rock feeling back

Listening to that inteview with will.i.am made me feel like we trash him a bit too hard. Yeah his musical output isn't always consistent or phenomenal, but he seems like a genuine cheerleader for Gaga. They're also clearly friends if they had a FOUR-HOUR lunch just to talk about creativity ddddd

P4K isn’t even a thing anymore. Y’all realize she probably won’t be “universally acclaimed” because she’s just not that kind of artist.

Also, rock has many many subgenres, her making rock music doesn't mean she's gonna make boring dad rock

born this way had a lot of rock influence, but it was still primarily a pop album. i see her doing something like it, especially considering the love the deep cuts (bloody mary, heavy metal lover) have gotten recently.

from the rolling stones song to the performance with metallica at the grammys, i don’t think people would be surprised or turned off by a rock-pop album from her

Don’t ask this base to educate themselves on music genres and sub genres… rock is always gonna be dad rock to them

yea i think when people hear “rock” their minds go to ’70s band rock. similar to when people hear “R&B” their minds go to ‘90s slow jams. :rip:

when UMG music is back up on tiktok we need to make Dancin' In Circles go viral so she's compelled to go in that direction next

Or they think of dad rock because her most recent songs are HMH and SSOH.

Dance pop is regarded as dated sound these days. Most of the successful/critically accalaimed record of last years are alt pop (Troye, Pink Pantheless, New Jeans, Taylor, Tate)

Thats why I was hoping her to gets away from dance pop route but this rock route is baffling frankly

I've only ever heard this from gay music stans in niche pop spaces, largely as a way to discredit dance artists their cognitive biases can't stand (and especially Gaga.)

Dance pop has thrived since the 70s and it's ironic that you're using Troye Sivan as an example of "alt pop" when his album definitely has dance pop and benefited from the recent revival of house and disco, both of which influenced dance pop. :rip:

Maybe let go of the delusion that Gaga is ever going to intentionally appease trend-chasing tweens on Twitter.

This is a perfect take, thank you for this.

Dance pop was considered uncool when Gaga debuted too. It didn’t stop The Fame from smashing.

One of them is a soundtrack song made specifically for a movie and the other is a ROLLING STONES' song where she had no creative input and only laid her vocals, so...

Okay? I don’t trust Gaga to make a forward thinking rock album in 2024. I hope she keeps it more electronic, she’s always more edgy and boundary pushing in electro-pop compared to jazz and rock.

And why can't she be universally acclaimed? She has always been acclaimed :michael: I would understand your comment if we were talking about Katy Perry, for example, whose albums have always been mixed/panned.
