I don't think debating the nuances between folk-inspired pop and AC/rock/america really negates the point I was trying to make  nor do I think when people say they want "dance pop," they are asking for more John Waynes (in general). Joanne/ASIB are in no way dance-driven enough to be considered dance pop albums. My point still stands.

I don't disagree? I was just arguing the statement that Gaga, in 2024, is "primarily" a dance pop artist when she has only released one primarily dance-pop album in the last decade.

You said you don't understand why people want her to move on from it, when in fact if the average fan has stuck around this long, they clearly must be interested in other genres from Gaga. Why stick around for an entire decade when you aren't getting what you want from her?

Chromatica is a fantastic album, and I don't understand the narrative that suggests BloodPop forced Lady Gaga to do especially Chromatica.

 

While he played a supportive role during her challenging times, pushing her to create music was a positive influence, helping her emerge from a depressive state.

 

Initially, the tracks were melancholic piano sessions, reflecting her struggles. As the project evolved without a specific vision, Gaga found solace and intentionally moved away from sadness in LG6.

 

The concept for Chromatica originated from Gaga's mind, not BloodPop's influence. Gratitude is due to him for two reasons: firstly, Gaga openly expressed herself without deception, unlike in Joanne.

We all know all of the album Joanne is about Taylor, she lied to herself.

 

Secondly, he facilitated collaboration with other producers, broadening her perspective and fostering positive experiences. We can see this now cause she actually works with Andrew Watts and other people she didn't worked before for LG7.

 

While Chromatica may have generic elements, standout tracks like Alice, Replay, Rain On Me or Babylon demonstrate its highlights.

even when she tries to make a basic bland pop song on purpose, she can't help herself on A Star is Born OST at least dd 

why are we assuming she’s just now starting to write and record? They’re adding horns, and instrumentation like that would be one of the last things done.

At this point i’m making peace with February not happening because, as secretive as she may want to be, there will always be rumblings, and so far, the only rumbling we’ve had is from Blade, who even himself two nights ago began to doubt things because of the lack of other rumblings (I truly think the Reddit post was what pushed him to express his doubt, but something tells me he may have been thinking this for a while, due to lack of any other information he has received, once you combine that with absolutely zero other credible ATRL insiders dropping in to drop info, it’s the logical conclusion. )

 

But, all this aside, your post is a little harsh. He didn’t lie. He may have just been prematurely advised of something that was never concretely finalised.
