this is why her streams for last albums are bad, they're effectively killed by the lead bombing so hard then us radio dont want a lot from her. 

 

I think rather than hits she'd have to create an overall album like BTW where the album tracks take on lives of their own

 

I was just saying it's totally ridiculous still being about 'Gaga x RedOne sounds so dated, nobody wants it in 2023' when the projects he was lead producing on it are the ones who are doing the best during streaming era and Tik Tok trends comparing to her last three solo albums which are having big issues in longevity with very meh overall daily streams.

 

I'm very fine if she has only new producers on next album. But going into a useless drama if she tries again with RedOne is totally tired and boring.

She obviously has no interest working with Redone. Interscope made her do those recordings in 2015 which she scrapped. 
 

Was Angel Down from the 2015 recording session? I always thought it was weird that Redone got writing credits for that song

RedOne working on Angel Down always made me wonder if she actually took existing Joanne songs (Angel Down, John Wayne, Dancing in Circles, etc.) to RedOne to try at them first before Ronson instead of having made "original LG5", and just preferred Ronson's direction better in the end.

 

I don't know if RedOne's catalog delves outside of dance pop, but I can imagine a scenario where Gaga has hesitant to do anything electronic post-ARTPOP.

Whether it was intentionally or subconsciously reductive trite, WDYDT was written for a short film scene that needed to communicate as briefly as possible, that Ally was slaying the industry but had totally lost touch, it served its purpose well and sounds like a cute Britney b-side.

 

For as much as certain LMs and the writing/producing team on that track like to pretend it was a totally straight-faced attempt at making a classic Gaga banger, its kinda obvious why multiple ASIB tracks have made it onto setlists and that one hasn't.
