I’ve had a negative attitude for poor miss A-NO ever since it was the first song alphabetically in my music library and would always auto play when I plugged my aux cord in and turned my car on. You can only hear, “HERE WE GO” so many times before starting to despise it.

PI is amazing and way way way better than A-YO. If A-YO had been released as the lead the meltdowns would have been the biggest in Gaga's history

This js what worked for ASIB - you have such amazing singles any can work as a lead, and it means they get a boost during future releases and don’t tank in streams post-TTH run

Should have been on standard version replacing either Come To Flop or Ugly Girl.

Thank god the label chose Perfect Illusion. I know A-Yo would have had a better debut but it wouldn't have been a smash like fans says it would. What I love about Perfect Illusion is that it was your typical polarizing Gaga lead single. Her lead singles make a statement of where she is in her career. 

 

Just Dance - Starting out in the business. Her life from 2006 to 2007 when she was a stripper, attended house parties, discovered her Gaga persona, performing at bars, etc

 

Bad Romance - Pop Domination. This was the lead single that propelled her further into becoming one of the biggest pop stars of all time. Bad Romance was such a rush when it first came out. I felt so blown away.

 

Born This Way - It did remind me of Express Yourself but honestly Gaga serves better vocals and I loved that she included trans people into her song about self love and acceptance. It was polarizing, people were upset but it was a risk that solidified her mark in the industry and her most loyal fanbase. 

 

Applause - It came out during an interesting time in her career where she felt so wounded from the chaos in the industry. The clown single cover emulates the pain she was enduring at the time from her hip and the mental trauma she has faced for years. 

 

Perfect Illusion - Even though its about Taylor Kinney, I also took the song as her pain and vulnerabilities from the backlash of ARTPOP. I know many fans hate this song but its one of her most risky singles to date. I love it so much. I remember having goosebumps when she yelled during the chorus. THIS IS THE TYPE OF RUSH I MISS IN GAGA'S LEAD SINGLES. Stupid Love did nothing for me compared to her other lead singles.

I really hope she gets it together with her next lead single because the last one sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison.

Diamond Heart, Dancing in Circles and John Wayne scream Lead Single materials

Heavy Metal Lover, Bad Romance, Government Hooker, Replay Diamond Heart are songs that only Gaga could have done. Nobody else has the venacular for that type of songs.
