It's basically same thing that happened back when she lost for Shallow to This Is America, if this is the case I hope they'll be generous enough to give her another general field category

I haven't seen the video but claiming it's irrelevant for Gaga's career because she's consistent makes no sense. Then why award Beyoncé last year or Kendrick for that matter? They have also been consistent and don't need Grammy awards to keep their careers afloat. I doubt that will factor in.

Why are there still people talking about grammys like they're one person who choose the winners to establish some agendas? What do you mean "Gaga winning does nothing for Grammys"? Thousands of people vote on them. Even if they vote based on certain agenda that's because there are enough voters agree with that agenda. I assure you no one wouldn't vote Gaga based on agenda such as "her winning brings nothing for Grammys so I won't vote her". Who tf cares about that??

I watched chunks of that stream and they're just kinda clueless about the Grammys (at least the GF). 

 

There's legitimate passion for all 3 rap albums and they will probably split their own vote. Justin Bieber never wins. The pop vote will almost surely consolidate behind Gaga in the GF given there's no passion for Swag and Sabrina didn't live up to expectations for MBF. Realistically, AOTY is between Bad Bunny as the cultural/narrative choice with a huge acclaimed album, and Gaga as the big pop choice with acclaim, legacy, and cross-genre support. Basically the worst scenario that could've happened for Kendrick happened.

AOTY is still up in the air for me but I think on GF win is guaranteed for Gaga. She has an overdue narrative for AOTY sure but she also has a whole other separate overdue narrative for General Field. She's had so many GF noms without a win (ARUTW, DWAS, It Don't Mean a Thing, etc.)

 

I feel kinda confident that her getting into SOTY, ROTY and AOTY means the Academy is intent on awarding her one of the three and honestly I wouldn't be mad. It's already exciting enough that she'll be crossing 15 Grammys, maybe even 20 if it's a really good night.

Who woulda thought 5 years ago?
