that's the only thing worth waking up, because what do you mean you're still going on about Gaga "ripping from Madonna's playbook multiple times" when she was """ripping""" from ALL of her idols' playbooks. like what are you talking about? Her whole thing is postmodern pop, pastiche art, and evoking and channeling her influences in an entirely forward thinking way. The whole point of The Fame and why fame and celebrity are constant recurring themes in her output is intrinsically tied to her view on pop music thanks to Bowie, Madonna, Prince, MJ, Grace Jones, etc.

 

Gaga's been around for way too long for people to still go on about silly things like that and not understand what she's doing as an artist.

The Fame is so David Bowie coded, idkw. And when I tried to dive deep into Bowie's discography later, I felt so familiar. "Wait, I think I heard this sound before, this music style before". I was so gagged she got a lot inspirations from him but still established her own nachos, her own unique style. 

Years ago, a guy who was a The Beatles fan said to me, "You're cool, you can listen to David Bowie, I cannot". I was like, wdym? His music was easy to get. 🤣🤣🤣

 

Disease still sounds so fresh it's unbelievable. Nobody gets the power of NOISE like she does  it's just so unabashedly aggressive and keeps building into that last minute where it explodes. That + the performance we got at Coachella? All time classic me thinks

You better spill miss azealia. Disease is legit her best ever lead single and one of her best songs imo, the shrieking vocals in the chorus just do things to my brain waves that vcan't be explained

When she hits that high note and the synths are blaring all the way up in the last 30 seconds it feels like it's going to explode in the best way possible. Others may not get it like we do, but disease scanned 10x diamond in this household

Replacing Blade of Grass with Happy Mistake really makes the album perfect huh .

Gaga should have put Blade of Grass on Harlequin instead. It would have made it easier for them to spin the promo to be about michael instead of FAD too .

Still don't think she will beat Madge's audience, but, imagine if.

 

The overreaction in here over Madonna's post which probably wasn't even about Gaga

 

Everyone has copied Madonna, it's not just a Gaga thing  and the post isn't even shady towards whoever it's directed to.

Happy Mistake instead of BOG would have made the album a 9.5/10 for me instead of 8.5/10
