The press release timing is weird. 

 

Press releases do not drop the day BEFORE the album. Seems like it was a way to engage the media during the leak.

At least a video for BMS should be compulsory

I found the press release and am the one who actually posted it. 

 

Visuals are for sure coming, the discourse here is about them not being available on launch fo the album.

That press release really pissed me off. It is complete confirmation that Parkwood/Bey are SOOOOOO cocky blowing smoke up their own ass. Them treating dropping an album without videos as something revolutionary?  The person in here who said it is a REGRESSION spilled!

It just makes no damn sense. She BUILT the past 9 years of her career as a visual artist, and now trying to undo that and selling that regression as a "groundbreaking" move

Its a bit deeper, it could be a quick read from Bey lol. Kelis was married to NAs during her popstar years and there was a time when she thought she was the next Beyonce due to her closeness with another big rapper and the image. When Kelis had her big break in 06 around the same time as Bday she threw plenty shade, Bossy is about Beyonce (full stop). She thought Bey's sound was ripping her off, but Bey is just talented af and experimental (as we now know) and can use her vocals to match it.

The math isn’t mathing with this rollout. Offering less than the bare minimum is a statement of sorts but it’s not groundbreaking.

I just finished listening to Renaissance for the first time and I'm deceased!

 

No visuals for the first listening experience is the move. 
 

In my opinion Lemonade read too much like a soundtrack because many of us experienced the music through the visual first. People have to fall in love and create memories with the music first. Beyoncé does so much visually and sonically I think it would’ve been too much to process. I think it’ll make sense later, that’s just me.

The people being mad at her for the lack of visuals. Like we live in a covid world still. We have monkeypox now added to the madness. She has to be on set with dancers, filming crews, make up/wardrobe staff etc... Like it's a lot! Making an album during covid is one thing, you can do it all from a distance now connected to your home studio but they cant do that with visuals so she must expose her entire family to covid and other crap to satisfy people over some visuals? Maybe she did find a way to film some videos or not but at the end of the day if she didn't, it's totally fine too. Notice even Ivy park campaigns are less over the top right now.
