Like you'd think they would've figured out by now that this laissez-faire approach is not working. Either make smarter choice or put out a quick press release & apologize when needed, i grew up with a Beyoncé that knew when to do this 

 

And it's hard not to be disappointed by her lately, we already get so little from her these days and now all we get are never ending hate trains and controversies that are sorta kinda her & her team's fault. This is just not the Beyoncé standard… 

I think it's okay for people in this base to be really really annoyed by this.

As a brand, this could be totally damaging for her, undermining her brand image but also her trilogy project entirely. I hope this doesn't become a huge storm for her, because I agree this seems like a stupid choice rather than a deliberately crooked move, but so many people are willing to drag Bey down that there's no way this won't become an issue for her from a PR perspective.

And for me and many people I know, her optics are worse than even this. Stans can hate me, but her silence on a genocide backstopped by the American empire after building up a 'revolution', 'america reimagined' image feels hollow as f***. She literally opened the album with a 'requiem' where she sang 'now aint the time to pretend' and 'can we stand for something'?! 

All this really does impact the super long term conversation and impact that this trilogy will stand in. And to be publicly seen with the Trumps in this moment? Please. Yes, there is nuance and sense that can be drawn from a random public charity thing, but during such sensitive and horrific times, she cannot be so tone deaf. Also, f the idiots just using this as an excuse to **** on B and call her names cuz God knows they just need an excuse to hate on her.

It will be fine, just like everything else.  A little less than a year ago, ATRL was convinced she was finished because of the accusations against Jay. 
 

Ivanka is a spineless, evil woman.  She's removed herself from her dad's admin because it cost her opportunities like this in the first term.  People will drag, but it's not like Ivanka is on tv every day as the palatable face of her father's policies. 
 

this is a good lesson for us all to stop putting bey on a pedestal. She isn't one of us, and she is just like the other wealthy elites who would step on us to get to the next height. Enjoy the music or don't.

She has always been in some way about 'uplifting' and pushing boundaries, standing up against power structures (mainly patriarchy) and the evils of society. Suppose she herself becomes this hollow shell of a person driven by her capitalist endeavours and ambitions. In that case, her art stops standing in all the 'impactful' cultural, political, and artistic conversations that make her post-2010 discography so potent. 

I'm not laying it all on her. She is just a person at the end of the day, it is just disappointing. I know how I would have felt seeing any other major A-lister at a public event on the same damn table as the Trumps (hosted by your husband). I don't know where such dissociation is coming from, because usually I've found B's cultural instincts very powerful - and the world is getting crazier by the day with clearly a lot more chaos to come. She's building a tens of millions of dollars worth house in the Cotswolds.  She has no intentions of "going down."

 

She will not suffer the consequences of this administration.  She can smile and fake her way through dinner with Ivanka even though she probably doesn't like her, because it's lining Jay's pockets.  Rich celebrities and businesspeople have learned the Trumps can be bought and sold, so they don't give a **** about the morality of it.

Like, I'm sorry but most of the criticisms shes received throughout her career and especially post-2020 have usually been semi-accurate but hypocritical at best & lies and hyperbolic exaggerations at worst. I definitely had a phase in like 2021ish where I was like "she's a billionaire! she doesn't need defending!" lmao. But I ended up rethinking that stance because most of her critics during that time proved themselves to be hypocrites. They were calling her out for being a capitalist heavy during Black Is King but then would be talking about how they're buying Fenty Beauty in the next tweet like ok....most online leftists and activists are performative imho so I don't take them too seriously at least when it comes to their celebrity critiques because most of them only stick to their morals when it's a celeb they don't like and come up with excuses for the ones they happen to like. Anyways, I guess my point is that most stuff that ppl try to throw at her I don't actually care about honestly. I've never shied away from giving my two cents even if it's negative but ultimately, I still be defending her down. But this is one of the first times where I actually see how disconnected she is from....her image idk lol. I'm more surprised at how little she must care about how she's perceived even by us? I understand not giving a rat's tail about what the media thinks because they've never been kind to her but what about us? That's why I said the slightest bit because it's definitely just an assumption but that's kinda the problem when she doesn't speak to us at all lmao. I have to be a parasocial freak and analyze her behavior without all the context 

But you saying "untouchable" is kind of what I mean by arrogance. Like, I don't think she's an arrogant person as a whole by any means, I've always loved how humble and sweet she seems. But to seemingly be bold enough to publicly go to an event where you'll be sitting near a little Drumpster just makes me feel like she knows nothing will happen to her career if that makes sense. So maybe arrogant is not the right word but I'm not sure how else to really describe that. Maybe oblivious.

Of course Beyoncé doesn't support Trump, people know that, we all know that, you know that. But it will not stop anyone from both sides. 

 

I do find it puzzling how little she cares about anything or her image the last 10 years, it's as if she is used to just being hated for everything and cares very little nowadays. Beyoncé from 20 years ago would have checked who was sitting at her table and opted out. 

 

That reminds me of when I saw that video of Trump and Barack being cordial to each other and sitting together at an event although they hate each other. And the comments were a war zone. I don't know how people expect these people to behave.

I usually agree with criticism about yvette, bey keeps her around since she's been there since the very beginning but tbh it isn't her fault.
