In what way does the final cover art for cowboy carter give you 'american capitalist'..? sometimes we on the internet put clever sounding words together that don't really make sense, and click 'submit post' before having a think about what they really mean. 

 

The final cover for Cowboy Carter is an image of Beyonce recreating the iconography of the black rodeo queen. It ties into southern culture, black history and is one of many reminders in the overall project that blackness and country-ness can and do co-exist. 

 

The only capitalist thing about that cover art is the fact it features Beyonce, who is herself a businesswoman. But so does the original cover. So I'm just not sure what you mean lol. 

 

Anyway, no, the Beyince vinyls were clearly spare stock from an earlier iteration of the album. That cover has only been printed for the original, shorter version of the album, while the final cover is only found on the full length tracklist.

Jus wanted to say i decided to try out the Hair Drops cause i have a patch in my beard that has always caused lots of discomfort. I tried everything so i was like what the hell let's try this again

You should definitely buy the vinyl, maybe it will lead to a smarter takeaway from the era than 'American capitalist'

Ive heard the album a few times, and have watched documentaries on it and what it means. Literally a reclamation of american culture - which is capitalism - and country music. Plus, it is an album by Beyonce herself - a massive capitalist. So yeah... 

 

The reason I am wanting to buy the vinyl is because my late partner loved Texas Hold' Em and I am collecting albums that really marked our relationship over the years. I bought Rennaissance for this reason, and was thinking of getting Cowboy Carter for this reason too. 

 

I just ******* hate the main cover and think the originally intended one is a million miles better.

You can't separate an American billionaire capitalist from some of the biggest representations of American capitalism: country music, Beyonce herselve AND that rotten flag (American culture and flag literally represent capitalism and genocide). The original cover was less in-your-face-American-capitalist-reclamation and symbolised a more grass-roots approach to diving into a genre that then was co-opted by the very people that Beyonce represents - American capitalists.

 

ANYWAY, The reasons I am asking about the vinyl is because my late partner loved the main singles and I am collecting albums that marked our relationship, as a sort of homage. And we both loved the original Beyince cover over the main one, so that is why I am asking.

I don't think this is anything but i do find it curious that they have actors for different roles (Cowboy Gang, Jolene, Mayhem Cowboys, Banker, Damsel in distress, Violent Man, Brothel Woman, Peep Show Dancer, Robbers etc). And that Mélina Matsoukas is the alleged director (could fit with the rumor of Nadia Lee exiting the project)

just checked and all those people are indeed in the tour credits. Ashley Coco/Jolene for example is the woman Bey hits with the bottle in the saloon interlude.

 

there's also this but "a Beyoncé music video" makes it sound more like something either got scrapped and repurposed as tour interlude or they just didn't differentiate between music video and interlude

I had the same reasoning! The release date is June 19 2025 so maybe it has something to do with the Paris date(s)

mine says June 5, 2025 in the UK  but yeah i think this is just the page for the tour. plus we already know there's a tour film since she recorded and filmed special dates, the HBO cameras, stadium staff saying she's filming etc but who knows if it'll be released or if she's moving onto the next thing 

 

she's eerily quiet tho (not even a b'day post her a week later ) so she's probably up to something

I really cannot see Beyoncé, even in her older age, consenting to do a jukebox musical. It's sort of the equivalent of releasing a Greatest Hits album, something she doesn't seem very intent to do.

 

I think if Beyoncé does Broadway, she's going to think bigger than replicating what has worked for others, and actually find a script or a writer to work with then produce it, rather than direct it (or she'll co-direct it like much of her visual albums/tour films).
