What an awesome show!!! Congratulation to B and the team for pulling off another spectacular show. 

 

Here are my thoughts:

Good: 

• Incredible stage. I personally love it more than RWT. The LED floors were so impactful. Seeing the band ON the stage was epic. And so many little details. It was amazing.
• Loved so many things. Ya Ya x WDYLM was a highlight. I loved Cuff it - more than on RWT. I enjoyed Bodyguard much more than expected. Flamenco ATE. I loved SHB. And many other highlights that I can't remember right now, like Honey x Honey. 
• Blue ATE. Her walk???!!!
• The interludes were amazing, they were giving MOVIE - I got OTR vibes. I loved them. 
• Bey looked happy and comfortable and brought the ENERGY. 
• Many adorable moments of bey having fun, being cheeky, etc. 

 

The bad:

• Riverdance lost all its charm. What a horrible adaptation of the song. 
• I'm sorry but Tyrant deserves much better. She lost the fun of the song... WHERE IS THE DANCING??? I will not forgive this, Tyrant deserves its full shine, a banging dance routine and that final chorus!!
• American Requiem and the opening should have been JUST B and the band. No dancers and unnecessary choreography. This should be her bohemian rhapsody live... not Spirit. 
• The unnecessary choreography felt jarring to me and messed with the energies of the song and the flow of the show. Protector doesn't need Lemonade'esque dancing or performance... just be yourself, hand in mic, emotions and heartfelt images on screen. Otherwise, the raw feeling of the song is lost and it comes off as some over-rehearsed moment. 

 

Loved the show. But she needs some major tweaks. I want more of B and the band, especially for a genre so rooted in the instruments and the singing. AR needs to be a career ender, not a decent opener. Tyrant needs to be THE moment of the show, not a cute moment. 

• OKAY! I'm getting pretty tired of the Beyhive complaining on the FIRST NIGHT❗️

 

I don't think many fans are paying attention to a few key point: 

- This is only the opening night. Bey is not only performing, but she's listening and paying attention to every moving part of the show, she's not exactly focused solely on choreography. There'll be kinks to work out, but that with every show. During the I Am. . . World Tour, she used the first show solely to run the show and change what they'd been working on for over a year, y'all don't think she knows how to run a tour? 
 

- Bey is not going to ruin all the hard work that went into healing her body just for 2 hours of a show that's not completely flushed out yet. I noticed after "YA YA", she wasn't dancing full out anymore. She's never going to be 2008-2018 Bey anymore, but she's definitely not going to be that Bey on the first night. Once things flush out and she becomes more comfortable, she'll dance better. 

 

• The setlist is interesting, choices that only Beyoncé could've made were displayed 🤣, but you can tell she listened to her fan base for certain songs. We've got one more tour and "DIVA" will be out of here, Blue can perform that sh|t herself! 
 

• Speaking of Blue performing, She's becoming a great dancer and I can honestly see that in her future. I think she'll eventually become the dance captain as she becomes older and more experienced, so don't look for any tours outside the summer and the usual US/EU market until she graduates 🤣❗️

 

• The Tour is essentially a continuation of RENI tour, as the albums are continuations, so it's natural that it builds on where RENI left off. I'm not sure why ppl were confused that it wasn't 100% it's on show as we're still trapped in this bullsh|t axx trilogy. The next tour will be the finale and will also pick up where the last two left off, it's not that hard to comprehend. Keep in mind that even as a residency show, it was still going to be a continuation. 
 

• Seems as if the costumes are extremely laid back for the opening. They're still cute, but I expect them to get a lot more sexier and western over time. There's nothing that stands out yet, besides the one look where she's siting in the read lips, but I need to see that in 4K. 
 

• I'm surprised she show so much of the visuals on the opening night, did she do that for RENI? As before, they look incredible. They don't look like just music videos, it plays out as a movie trailer so I wonder will there be a script involved. I'm not sure as to how they'll incorporate all three album's visuals, because these look absolutely, positively nothing like RENI visuals. These are set as an old, traditional western, while there's scenes from RENI literally placed in New York. She's peaked my interest again, but she needs to keep sprinkling more over the next 40 dates.

after sleeping for 3 hours, I woke up wanting to see it again..  Thankfully my first show is only 2.5 weeks away

But I'm kinda gagged that Run The World and Love On Top didn't appear... and that Before I Let Go still insists on showing up

 

I wasn't expecting it at all for her to do the exact same run of the Renaissance intro (ITG/Cozy/Alien), even she knows that moment won't ever be topped!!

And that Giant Bey interlude is wild, we KNOW that has to be apart of the visuals

Show looks amazing. That Beyonce montage was so cool like she has so many unreleased visuals its insane  they better be coming

The LED stage brings COZY and AS even more to life.

Omg just remembered the interlude where she is invincible when that man is trying to shoot her in the duel. That being a metaphor for the hate she got from going country and it bouncing right off of her.

Omg. This takes me back to 2021 when it was being said Beyoncé was shooting something with a lot of celebrity cameos.

Overall...I'm happy! But, like she taught me, I have notes lol.

 

Topline: this feels like a slightly elevated Rennie Tour. Both in terms of Bey's performance, the spectacle, and the surprises (Blue, Rumi, etc). Essentially, for me, this almost functions as what another leg of the Rennie tour would have given had she toured the trilogy as one big interconnected tour that would evolve with each release.

 

The Good: The production, theatrics, and overall execution of the vision are elite. Bey, as ever, is a joy to watch and operates at a level that I think becomes easy to overlook (even as a stan) given the stellar standard she functions at. I'm typically not moved by the whole bringing out the kids thing (there's school work to be doing lol), but that was so warming where present.

 

The Hmm:  The setlist is...something lol. I braced for a lot of CC. Makes sense. The problem is that doing it the way she's done it (which is basically almost all of CC early in the show) sees the early sections kind of drag a bit. CC makes for a great, cinematic listen as a body of work. But, she more than anyone else, ought to understand that ish has to translate live to earn its spot on the setlist. There were a few awkward moments during like Just For Fun and Alligator Tears where she asks fans to sing along and it was ...crickets. At least on my feed lol. I know she's selling and cementing an album, but maybe omitting certain songs or opening uptempo and weaving in the more introspective moments later will have better helped. 

 

The upside is that the show overall definitely has its own incline and the latter half has an amazing, exhilarating payoff.

 

Sidebar: Performing non CC songs like Thique and Before I Let Go in relative full while leaving Drunk In Love, Break My Soul, and GP pleasers like Irreplaceable is wild work to me. A borderline unforgivable offense lol.  

 

The Let's See: I'm Choreo Hive, so with the healed foot, I was and still am hoping for more movement compared to Rennie tour. A part of me is digesting the reality that she legit may be pulling back in general, and I've become ok with that. As her rationing out her all-out moments will give us more years of a healthy and able-bodied Beyonce. At the same time, choreo and energy are baked into the expectation of Beyonce as a performer (and that won't change). So, while there are definite dance moments on this tour, I think there's some tinkering still needed to make it hit more. She's fine to fall in and out of the routine (as she's always done), but I just want the moments she's in her choreographed pockets to present more powerfully. It happened like this with the Rennie tour, so I'm hopeful for the show to get tighter in this regard as it progresses.

 

Overall, I'm satisfied. It's just that stanning the Beys, MJs, and co over the years has made me so plugged into nuance and the pursuit of perfection that there will always be notes.

 

Excited to see how the show tightens and evolves.

Also the interludes look like scenes from A MOVIE.  We need it omg

yeah i wouldn't stress about the choreo. i remember being disappointed by the lack of dancing on renny's opening night and looking back she executed the dances much better and harder by the second half of the tour, to the point i asked myself why we even panicked about the dancing in the first place that'll happen 100% again this time 

Anybody clock that we might be getting red-haired Bey for Act III?  If we're going off her dancers all having platinum hair for the RWT, followed by Bey rocking platinum hair for CC. They seem to all have red/auburn for this tour. I would DIE. Her Beyoncé Experience red hair remains one of my favourite looks on her.

I hate that she's now just doing 50% choreo like an auntie and never commits 100% to her choreos when shes purely dancing. I just LOATHE that because it always looks lazy. I get its properly in order to preserve and remain painless, still annoys me as a fan
