Yeah, Renaissance was the right decision. After Lem-4:44-EIL/OTR2 and TG/BIK the LAST thing I'd want to listen to is ******* Cowboy Carter :jonny2:

I think before we think about act III, we need to pray that this whole Diddy stuff goes away for her and Jay. Because the GP is happy with her and there is absolutely no positive press out now. Can't believe after so many years of being on top her legacy is now tarnished.

The tea isn't hitting the spot. I am not sure how her displeasure with Renaissance coming out first leads to her being unhappy with the act-i visuals (which we kinda do know she filmed entirely) and thus leading to them essentially being scrapped.

I struggle to believe she was so unhappy with switching the order around that it has derailed everything for her. It's not in her nature to stay stuck and bitter like that. My gut says, that while she flipped the albums (remember she is always recording songs and in reality they are tweaked and curated into albums till the very end), she was unhappy with Renaissance visuals and then realized that one album and one visual film (videos for all songs) was a formula that was too exhausting and difficult to execute successfully for what her vision for the three act's was/is. She had a rough period of figuring out what to do after Renaissance (with the visuals) and after scrapping them for the time being, she had a new strategy and vision for the projects in place and that is what she is sticking too.

I also believe act-iii will come soon. Within the first half of 2025. She has also already teased act-iii (heavily) and said it is time for new music.

However, she will not make the halftime about act-iii. It is dedicated to CC - and is called CC Christmas for a reason. The songs will get their deserved live shine - especially since how MADE for live performing many of the songs are.

Thassit. I don't worry or panic. Bey had one vision, she pivoted, decided she was unhappy with Ren visuals and that it wasn't aligning with larger trilogy anymore, changed plans and came up with a new vision for wrapping up the trilogy - especially as the lack of visuals became a major power play in her arsenal - and now we are 9 days away from glory - then we will get act -iii soon. Damn I can't wait

I wouldn't go that far. The people who are giving fire to this issue most likely always hated her. The allegations finally gave them ammo but don't get it twisted they didn't need that to feel the way they do about her now. That was always there.

Her legacy is still very much intact just that with social media things now feel more pronounced and conspiracy theories are at all time high. But this isn't new to her it's just this is a new level of crazy.

People thought she was guilty even before all of this so frankly their opinion doesn't matter.

Those people didn't like her to start with.

Let's move on, this is a battle her husband must fight not her. And frankly, I think he should start suing people.

cc being the original first act issa mess fr. :toofunny3:

one of my concerns in 2013-2019 was she stopped making 'fun' music. granted she wasnt emotionally there to make fun music but she always kept a balance. her transition into doing more niche storytelling, personal story, and visual productions def benefitted her legacy. but there wasn't anything light/fun from her since 4 that was platable for the avg listener.

i said that to say – renaissance was needed and the perfect first act. her return to music with something fun and energetic made the era + tour more powerful.

Ultimately that's why she's so savvy about understanding the right moves when it comes to her art.  CC was on her heart and gave her a new spirit of reinvention after experiencing raciscm and rejection at the CMA's. I'm sure that recording and executing CC, proving herself beyond theory, that she was capable of making anything she touches excellent, gave her the confidence to make something as brilliant and assured as Rennaisance. CC was the nexus that inspired a lyric like: "I'm one of one".

At the same time, I could see a path from Lemonade to CC. The artistic chronology is aparent. After a 5 year break, and the thirst for Bey, there was an alternate universe where CC actually faired better then than it did in our timeline - even if that hypothesized sucess and impact would have weighed less than what we experienced with Rennaisance as her actual comback.

I believe things happened how they should have. Generally speaking, I am pleased with the Cowboy Carter era.  What it's missing as compared to Rennaisance is a second top ten single via tok trend, and culturally defining  tour.  But as a body of work, it's just as iconic for it's audaciousness. For it to have sold 1.4 million in the U.S. within a year considering all is amazing at this stage in her career and a true success!  Surely it will reach double platinum with time and when all the noise of bandwagaon Rennaisance fans start to fade, everyone will look back and say that CC was a masterclass and speak with nostalgia about experiencing it when it was released.

She filmed everything for Renaissance. It is its own film, not a selection of songs/videos to fit one long film half a decade later. It was 100% supposed to be out before any succeeding act. Which brings us to why they're not out. We already know CC was supposed to be Act I. What matters is that she really, really, really wanted CC to be Act I. Very late in the process she changed her mind and decided to release Ren first basically as a gift for the fans because of the pandemic, the social and political attitudes, the trends in music, and not least of all because it had a greater chance of commercial success. Plot twist: she regrets that decision hugely. The finished film is unreleased because she's not happy about it. That has little if anything to do with minor details like overediting her waistline frame by frame or whatever the rumors were about the delays. She's just generally uncomfortable with the idea of anything more preceding CC. It's not what she wanted her fans or anyone else to experience first, and she regrets compromising her original concept of the three-act project. It ****ed with her. (As a Virgo, I get it dd.) She's cutting off her nose to spite her face. She recorded CC out of spite after the CMAs (petty queen); she postponed the Renaissance film out of spite after months of indecision. As we know, she was still filming after the lead single and officially teased visuals officially after the album. In 2022 she still was committed to having the visual component accompany the album closely. As more time passed she soured on that idea, and it wasn't worth it (to her) to corrupt the original concept any further by pushing any more of Ren. Yes, she went on tour for it, but you can't back out of a tour as easily as you can a digital release of music videos. No future plans for them are known (to the source of this info) except that they will be released, likely in the form we've been anticipating this whole time. It's his own opinion that after she drops everything at once we'll never see her again. It's not mine, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I haven't been around here that much lately so this may be common knowledge to y'all but it was piping hot earl grey for me last night

Thanks for this!

I believe it and feel it does add a fresh dynamic to a generally confusing situation we're sitting in regarding the visuals.

But...

I still am convinced there are other elements at play.

First thing's first, I definitely believe the "not being satisfied with aesthetic" whispers. Especially with the morsels of tea I personally know regarding the multiple reshoots that took place.

Also, I love Bey and know she wields a lot of power and autonomy, but she's not above commercial speed bumps and hurdles.

I 200% believe that tea about the streamers not jumping at whatever visual she was pitching to them at the time. It was relayed in a way that was way too specific, nuanced, and via a source in the cinema space. It also totally tracks with the broader industry tea of the streamers not cutting (as) big checks anymore and even renegotiating their deals with artists, comedians, and actors. Leaving the likes of Bey and similar in a bit of a tailspin.

I say that to say, it's clear she was trying to release whatever she had in the can in 2023 and was coming across hurdles beyond her power. I fully believe the RWT Film was a slightly rushed contingency and something to perhaps gather data on what going the theater route "could" look like.

Bringing it all into the now and factoring in your tea, I could see her doing something random like returning to her desired order and dropping the CC visuals first, followed by the Rennie visuals, and closing out with Act III. Or CC, Act II, and circling back to Rennie as a closer.

I also don't think it's far-fetched for everything to be reworked into a combined visual fusing what she loved from the initial Rennie film +  the reshot aspects, CC, and Act III... all with a reasonable film-like duration (2hrs-2.5 hrs max).

As someone who has ALWAYS been resolute about the visuals coming out (because NO ONE is spending millions on something not to come out), my only gripe now is that there's a risk of the rollout being messy (e.g. there's no logical reason for CC visuals to come before Rennie) OR that something will be collateral damage (e.g. Rennie visuals being overlooked by GP because we're actively "in" a different era. OR The visuals for the current era being overlooked because the Rennie visuals end up being that good).

We'll see!

We also need to realize that these albums as we know them were not fully completed all at once.

For instance, it's very possible that many CC songs were recorded after/during Rennaisance era. And also that Rennaisance songs were conceptualized/recorded during the initial CC creation phase.

When you decide as a business to officially go a certain direction, you pull up the vision board, look and see what elements are missing to actualize the concept, and then fill in the gaps.

This is so believable. Inspite all of our ruminating, this appears to give insight into the thinking of an obsessed Virgo. At the end of the day, I just hope we get the visuals we've all been waiting for for!

where is the art book ? how does she and her team have reached such a level of incompetence that even sending a ******* book on time isn't possible anymore ? :rip:

her saying she freed herself from perfectionism during ren was just an excuse to become all sloppy wasn't it

Maybe there is more hinging on this halftime performance than we know i.e. if it goes well and Netflix are happy with the viewership they will agree to pick up the visuals. :foxaylove3:

That doesn't sound like something Bey would negotiate. She's not waiting for some numbers to see if Netflix picks up the visuals. It'd be more like she does this if they already have a closed deal on the visuals.

This further makes me believe she's dropping Act III soon. I could fully see her performing a new single for it next week, with it immediately dropping on streaming right after. With Act III dropping in Jan or Feb.

Because like I said, something has to be coming after the performance. I would genuinely shocked if she didn't capitalize on the moment.

I cant imagine she'd drop a new single on streaming on Christmas Day - only because the charts will be a clustermuck of festive music. But I could see her performing a song / announcing it and then dropping it around NYE, which could be fun

I wouldnt put it past Bey to either release the visuals or the lead of Act 3 with "Merry Christmas" at the end of the show.

She loves to be corny at times and that sure does feel like a Beyonce thing to do

Ok so--it sounds like the Cowboy Carter visuals were specifically designed to narratively lead into the Renaissance visuals, and were completed fully before the Renaissance ones had even completed principal photography. Interesting.

This also sort of lines up with the fact that when the Rennie Tour Film went to screen, some cinemas listed the director as Nadia Lee Cohen. Perhaps there was internal conversation about whether to just drop the Rennie Visuals in theatres, or whether to use the tour film instead as a test run?

Sounds like everything is happening quite last minute, and the re-editing of BEYINCE to include Ya Ya and other songs almost certainly means reshoots of the CC visuals are now needed, which is hard to do, because you need to re-group the creative team and align everyone's diaries.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare, which explain her f*** it mentality

I really dont want a chopped and screwed edit of three films into one. I cant imagine Nadia wanting that either. They should be released as a trilogy of individual projects, and probably better dropped online rather than in theatres tbh

What makes me curious about this though, is that it seems like some songs on CC were added after Renaissance was released, so if the visuals were shot that long ago, does it mean songs like Ya Ya and Spaghettii are not included the visuals? Or did she do reshoots to add those in - and if so how does she adapt the original CC storyline to incorporate these songs.

So many questions, and I know nobody here has the answers :lmao: I'm just thinking out loud.

Oh totally, me too! I seem to have gotten on some people's nerves on here over the last few days but I think this is all one massive puzzle thats genuinely fascinating to unpick. And I actually do work in the film industry with experience in project selling and marketing, so I have a bit of expertise in the field that I thought might be interesting to the base (tho some people are just irritated by it I guess..)

If I were Beyonce and I had recorded visuals for BEYINCE, and then I recorded Ya Ya, I would move heaven and earth to make sure the final project included it.

I'm assuming that these re-shoots would have taken place when she shot the new album art imagery for Cowboy Carter, which would track with the fact that a lot of her Beyince and Renaissance Album Art was photographed during the visuals shoot (e.g. CliqueBait being both the BMS video and cover art).

Anyway, anyone hoping for Act III on Christmas Day probably shouldnt hold their breath--her latest post about having a COWBOY CARTER CHRISTMAS would point way closer to a CC visuals drop / deluxe track rather than an immediate switch to a new project, especially if this Mitsouko tea is correct and she genuinely loves CC and wants to get the visuals out for it before any more rollouts.

While this could be true and IMO is in line with my belief that (powerful as Bey is) she still answers to someone (in this instance the streamers), I would expect more in the way of "promo" if that was the case.

Nothing groundbreaking but more in the vein of how she and her team "pushed" RWT film. Multiple trailers, seeded news stories in publications, and experiential ish (merch on her site to wear on Xmas day).

I'd be here for this. And actually don't think she does ish like that enough. If anything, she's gone out of her way to do the opposite of what would be a really neat tie-in when it comes to her drops. So, this would be welcome. Especially as Yvette has shot down the tour rumors.

I'd be highly surprised if she did Halftime with nothing to "sell" or "push" after. If not the tour, then the visuals would be perfect and let that buzz lead to a tour announcement in early 2025 or whenever she's ready to drop Act III. With the tour itself being for all three acts.

Great points but this is Beyoncé, she doesn't need ANY momentum to tour. So I think the publicity and momentum from the Halftime performance would help these late visuals more than anything.
