She filmed everything for Renaissance. It is its own film, not a selection of songs/videos to fit one long film half a decade later. It was 100% supposed to be out before any succeeding act. Which brings us to why they're not out. We already know that CC was supposed to be Act I. What matters is that she really, really, really wanted CC to be Act I. Very late in the process she changed her mind and decided to release Ren first basically as a gift for the fans because of the pandemic, the social and political attitudes, the trends in music, and not least of all because it had a greater chance of commercial success. Plot twist: she regrets that decision hugely. The finished film is unreleased because she's not happy about it. That has little if anything to do with minor details like overediting her waistline frame by frame or whatever the rumors were about the delays. She's just generally uncomfortable with the idea of anything more preceding CC. It's not what she wanted her fans or anyone else to experience first, and she regrets compromising her original concept of the three-act project. It ****ed with her. (As a Virgo, I get it dd.) She's cutting off her nose to spite her face. She recorded CC out of spite after the CMAs (petty queen); she postponed the Renaissance film out of spite after months of indecision. As we know, she was still filming after the lead single and officially teased visuals after the album. In 2022 she still was committed to having the visual component accompany the album closely. As more time passed she soured on that idea, and it wasn't worth it (to her) to corrupt the original concept any further by pushing any more of Ren. Yes, she went on tour for it, but you can't back out of a tour as easily as you can a digital release of music videos. No future plans for them are known (to the source of this info) except that they will be released, likely in the form we've been anticipating this whole time. It's his own opinion that after she drops everything at once we'll never see her again. It's not mine, but I wouldn't be surprised.

The full Renaissance film being condensed to just a few songs is worrying bc everything that was teased looks so good, but I guess some of that has been cut.  But I'm glad it sounds like we'll still get something eventually.

 

I felt sad reading that she regrets her decision and it affected so much.

 

Also not surprised that she might disappear after the trilogy is over. I've had the vibe for a while that might be the case.  She's done with the industry. And who can blame her after the way she's been treated.
