I can't get over how bad the callouts are for II MOST WANTED

 

It's remained at the very bottom of the chart for it's entire run

 

 

Somehow (maybe total conjecture), I feel like Miley (who I actually like btw) is talking up the process and their friendship to be more than what it is. But I love an artist who commits to selling a narrative in a promotional capacity. It's more than what we're currently getting from our girl. 

 

I've long hung up my clown face paint when it comes to the whole "if only Bey would drop a video' or "now would be the perfect time to drop a video". 

BUT...in this case it really would be 

 

Hell, they can even fling it on Miley's channel since it's co-billed and it can be one of those faux "us recording the song together in the studio" ala Whitney and Mariah's When You Believe. Or could even be a "live" version with some kind of "rehearsal version" wording tacked on to create a clear differentiation from the album version and give it a fresh coat of hype paint. Something...anything. 

 

At the same time, I know I stan a stubborn Queen who wants to give it to us all at once via the "visuals". She's very aware of her status too, so I imagine there's the "it's my so, so will be serviced via my platforms, in my way".

 

All the while we have two major acts ON THE SAME LABEL. This should be easy breezy promotionally speaking. And yet here we are.

You're overthinking it. Miley barely promotes either and it's not like she's trying to sell us the idea they're skipping down Rodeo Drive eating ice cream.

Thiis iis so shockiing to me. IIt's a really great song and honestly feel like iit would be a "HIIT" iif iit were just a Miiley song or iif anyone else besiides Beyoncé recorded iit. IIdk. Seems fiishy.

The song is great, it's just a bit dated. Like it's very classic Beyoncé or Miley. I just think people didn't want to hear a ballad from either of them. I love it, not every great song is a hit.

As we're now more than 2 months past the release of CC is does seem to be taking longer this time... 

I've heard MM&I out in public twice in the last week. That song will always be famous. Clears the entirety of Country Cosplay etc etc

The forced CC hate feels quite strange.
