Cowboy Carter's horse wig is secured. I put her off for like a week and somehow, by the power of God... it's hitting harder than usual even though I was getting BORED quickly. I think I needed a palate change after listening to that other album. How do I put this, I think what Hasbeyn does has flavor to it. 

 

Also notice how with every album cycle, there's never a discussion about a Beyoncé album sounding like a previous album.

Anyways I call the number the customer service people provided and USPS states it had to be reported within 7 days (thanks customer service team for getting back to me in 2 weeks!), but the claim would be denied anyways since it delivered to the address the shipper put on the label (aka Beyoncé sweatshop's fault)

 

Sent a very lengthy Karen inspired email back... also they neglected to even comment at ALL about the box sets I received but never ordered and the charges to my card for them after the fact, despite no order number for them.

I haven't listened to Jolene in two weeks.  It doesn't even touch Miley's version, which is quite something.

 

I appreciate her trying to do something different, but she should've done 9-5 or another Dolly song instead.

Not the 31 songs. Oh I just KNOW Ms Thang saw CC and spontaneously decided to add more songs to that album in order to maximized her first week revenue. 

So i guess no one will complain about CC length from now on uh ?

I am so indifferent to TS and actively dislike the cult-like hype around her (it's factually is unwarranted), but I will always give credit where due…

 

That lil "surprise" is the ish I love!

 

The album itself ain't for me, but I love innovative marketing and disruption. The reality is that the girl probably just wants to run her numbers up, but the "story"around the move and the perceived ballsiness is the real marketing masterstroke.

 

Bey has shown she's not above "playing the game" because I don't think it was ever on her bingo card or ours for her to ever drop a 27 track album. And yet CC exists.

 

TS, to me, does not compare on any major metric when it comes to Bey. But I'll just say that I am interested to see how Bey continues to push her own envelope and "the" general envelope moving forward. Especially being modern music's original disrupter.

Beyond the cover element, it's literally one of the best songs on the album and encapsulates what the project at large is about: storytelling, spark, and Country…but on Beyonce terms. 
 

The lyric flip is so c*nt and is genius (Bey, as a career long feminist, was never gonna "beg" a woman to not take her man). The new outro with the male voice interpolation is just…bliss. 
 

I suspect, from a stan perspective, it's suffering from what Texas and 16 Carriages are suffering from: people will always be more enamoured with totally new material rather anything they've heard before the album dropped. 
 

It's telling that the GP clearly rock with it and it would be an immediate smash if pushed. The Hive will inevitably jump on board if it does get a push too.

I listened to THAT album and my God, the Lana and Lorde rejects are crazy to me tbh. How can it be so celebrated when its just a rehash of a sound over and over again
