I don’t think the issue has ever been her selling the vinyls more so selling them in time for it to count for her first week sales - an issue we’ve discussed with how she handled renaissance’s vinyls

 

also there are significantly more vinyls than there was for renaissance which is good but will also make them harder to sell out of course once she does reveal the cover. I honestly have no idea how quickly they’ll sell out because of the factors that has been discussed: curiosity or lack thereof into the genre that seems to be explored, crumbs in the packaging last time, a bigger hit attached to it, more units available, less time to order, state of the economy etc.

 

if nothing out of the ordinary happens with this rollout within the next 12 days or release week like visuals for example or her announcing another tour etc. etc.  i firmly believe she should’ve just had physicals prepared to preorder with everything hidden similar to ren as soon as she released Texas and 16 carriages just because there was an insane amount of buzz surrounding the songs lol

I love us for real, but the way I am watching this thread with popcorn and kinda kii'ing at the sudden awakenings.

 

Some folk did THEE most moaning at anyone who dared to worry or critique the wasted weeks without a preorder link, now there's a kind of collective worry after y'all are seeing the slowness of the numbers in 4k and realizing how little time before release there is to shift em... and the very rational logic we were preaching about her giving herself more time to sell through stock.

 

Seeing some of those same defenders oscillate between "you're obsessed with numbers"... "I don't care if she sells 150k first week, she has nothing to prove" only to then predict her huge opening week sales (lol)....to finally seeing what some of us were nervous about (when seeing the vinyl #s) has been interesting...and ironic lol.

Bey pays people to make the magic happen, so in a way I too am leaving it in their hands. As a stan, I'll always "care" and "will" her the best outcome, but there are salaried staff whose literal job it is to market her ish and deploy contingencies if things are moving slow. It's the reality of all artists.

 

To a degree, it's almost more fun if we aren't "as" privy to the what and when of what's going on under the car bonnet. Like, I'd much rather just log on to IG and see she's posted the cover and the the promo videos of the CD/vinyl/merch packaging than knowing in the front of my mind that they only did it at that time because she only sold 2 copies after the Parkwood and Shop Beyonce posts. 

 

On the up side, I'm fairly certain things will move majorly when she posts + reveals the cover on her socials. Her IG and Facebook followings are huge. Plus, pretty sure other retailers are able to go live with their own preorders once the cover has been unveiled. So there's that too.

THIS!!!  Like we know she’s thee Beyoncé but let’s be real, if she had the preorders ready by the Super Bowl or even two weeks after the superbowl I’d be willing to bet they would’ve been sold out by now. Our complaints/concerns at the time were justified imo
 

let’s just hope the official cover reveal comes SOON like today or tomorrow and her team does an adequate push for it. The fact that they are only pushing the vinyls on the shopbeyonce tik tok account instead of hers. Like how can you seriously defend that lol… it’s basically selling a vinyl to people who have likely bought it already

speaking of the album cover I kinda need the platinum blonde hair on it if it’s styled similarly to her Super Bowl hair. It looked GORGEOUS

 

I honestly don’t see this pushing more than 200k first week.

I think sometimes there’s too much preoccupation with numbers that it chips away from the enjoyment of an era. Granted, Bey doesn’t give us a whole lot to sink our teeth into these days pre-release date. It’s one thing to analyse concrete numbers like streams and chart positions but I don’t know that the floating vinyl numbers are reliable enough to warrant a frenzied panic. 
 

I noticed the other lady turned off tracking function for her physicals. Her stans were probably doing the same thing on social media: filling HQ in with periodic minutiae. Stan things I guess

Yup and the irony to say we forgot who we stan, someone who doesn’t to promote, and in the same breath predicting 500k first week. How does that happen without promo?

Gosh yall are obnoxious af. Who but crazy stans preorder something they have no clue what it includes? We dont know the amount of tracks, the collaborators, etc

 

Like you do realize only crazy stans preorder such things? And THE + the daily listener gains on Spotify Show that Bey appeals significantly more to the GP this time around than before. Therefore its only logical to assume that things will pick up more closer to the actual release date.
