To be honest, I think she's fine with having just one single by album launch, especially if this one ends up becoming a genuine hit.

 

The less of an idea people have of what to expect from the album, the greater the interest will be by the time it drops.

Anyway, I am already exhausted by the think pieces and news segments on how BMS is an anti-work song, both the praise and derision. She was literally not thinking about that when she made this fun club bop  

The release part doesn't even mean to let go of something, it means to forget about it in the moment and enjoy yourself. The need for likes and clicks is legitimately turning the world stupid as ****.

I'm happy she did 5M with BMS. 

But that's just the hype of a new song. 

I hope they really plan to do something with the song to give it longevity. I haven't seen that flawless rollout yet.

Im still convinced BMS is a warm up type of single. Assuming she’s rolling with the basics of “house/dance music” and how it’s a steady build up. She’s new to it and most likely won’t toss out the best she has as a lead. She/her team could be testing the waters and being very strategic in their approach. I’ve come to this conclusion based on the fact that she put emphasis on the “track 6” as in, “how do you like this common mixtrack, yall” just to see what the general perception would be (and whether or not she would continue pushing that sound knowing there’s a plethora of genres showcased throughout the album she can push out next) I’m just convinced there’s something bigger and better that’ll follow it up tbh.

I would think if you're Beyonce coming back to the scene you need to come BACK.  Like, there's no room for promo singles for her.  As we can already see BMS is occupying the news cycle and all the conversation.  I can't imagine a follow up getting the attention this one got.

Yes, frankly, it would be a stupid idea. 

They can not release 6 songs before the album and not start right at the outset with the lead. And when the GP has too many songs to focus, they don't focus on any in the long run, Lemonade and ST showed that. 

Even if they want to do 6 songs for each week, BMS should be promoted as a full lead. 

I think Track 6 was just a callback to the CD player era and the 90s. 

So a well known Ballroom dancer just liked this tweet re BMS video 

 

 

So based on BMS' performance, I'd say we can count with an average of 2-2.5 Mio streams for the Renaissance tracks, so that would amount to 32-40 Mio first day streams, which is in line with what we thought.

Mmm. Beyoncé stirring up conversation in the media has been the standard since ST tbh, just less political/controversial this time around, comeback or not. Im just keeping in mind that we’re experiencing part one of a series of events. There’s an early, high and late stage of the “Renaissance” (assuming the rollout is loosely based on the historical pattern of the Italian Renaissance) We’re not experiencing the height of it just yet. The High Renaissance, which is the follow up I’m referring to, represents the culmination of goals set from the Early Renaissance (Meaning she has a lot more where BMS came from)
