this is another fan made conspiracy. artists do not pay Spotify for playlisting and paying radio stations to get airplay is a federal crime.

Okay THATS what I was wondering. I don’t why that’s a common misconception among the stan world.

im sawry im a terrible person but I always think about how she should have made the FWT monolith split like the twin towers during diva like that would be an inside hive joke. there's just something about that stage that had me in awe. :pig: now the rennie tour's production are more cohesive, the interludes and everything, but it didn't make the hairs on this wide neque stand. chills thinking about it, the anticipation when it was slowly turning before formation.:jonny6:

Eh not necessarily, payola has been a thing and streaming farms are real, labels pay them a lot.

https://businessday.ng/arts-and-life/article/explainer-streaming-farms-black-market-of-music-business/?amp=1

Payola is illegal and far from common practice. some details get murky when it comes to promo in exchange for concert tickets or interview appearance etc, but pay-for-play is a punishable offense.

Streaming farms and bots can easily be spotted by Spotify and disqualified from stream counts, and Billboard/Luminate further vets the US streams. the current cap for each Spotify user is 20 streams per song per day—it'll be thrown out after that. bot/farm support is also very much clockable by fans. Nigerian artists can feud on Twitter about streaming farms all they want (lol) — I don't see how that should be relevant to Beyoncé.

Bottom line is, why the hell would any one of us ask Beyoncé to use payola and streaming farms? please be serious.

same, absolutely no one wants a DC reunion in 2023 and if you do lol :rip:

Imagine saying "if bey wants to be a legend" in 2023....This base needs bleach. The dumb sh*t said on here is something else.

What we know is that labels have huge influence over playlisting & radio. There are all kinds of deals & bargains in place, it's essentially payola without being as blatant as exchanging money in hand...

There are a lot of things that are technically illegal but there are ways to work around them. Are you new to how everything operates lol?

They are not easy to spot, if that were the case labels wouldn’t pay millions for them. It’s still happening now.  Billboard also turns a blind eye to a lot of it. Vice did a documentary on how a lot of streams are fake.

Let’s do research mama. Every fanbase on here thinks their fave is a legend. I’ve been hearing Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears are legends for the past 10 years and clearly people are lying! Hell I even see legends like Diana, Madonna, Luther, Tina called icons by people in and out of the industry. I rarely see people actually use the word legend for musical artists, it’s VERY rare. If you were to ask random GP members I really doubt they would label Bey a legend, in fact I bet Taylor would get more responses of that nature. The reality is the public is fickle, while we might enjoy the quality music, performance, and vision Beyoncé has given us all these years the public only knows what they hear on the radio and on these promoted playlists. So they’re familiar with what… Crazy in Love, Single Ladies, Run The World, Drunk in Love, Formation, etc. Meanwhile there’s crickets for the Dance For You, Love Drought, Jealous, All Night, Virgos Groove, etc all of these truly amazing songs that show her TALENT get paid dust by her team

I still remember that Elders React video to Lemonade and there was a woman who couldn’t recognize Bey’s voice on 6 Inch because she didn’t think it could go so low. The public needs to see and hear her gift, which is why performances are so important to her legacy. I’m grateful she recorded Beychella and actually let it be uploaded to a permanent viewing platform, but how many amazing performances have been locked in a vault for 0 reason? Why can’t we watch her VMAs or Grammys performances without jumping through hoops? The public should have access to her talent!

I agree! Why aren't the intimate shows like "Live in Roseland, I am Yours,  and Revel" available on streaming?

More instances of a certain artist doing promo without the artist actually doing anything, it's almost like you can hire a team to do the promotion for you

So you think that if her team promotes Jealous and Love Drought so the GP knows them, they’ll think she’s a legend because somehow her singles don’t show her talent but those songs do? hm.. ok :bird:

If some people are not using the word legend in reference to Beyoncé is because people don’t usually use that word for people that’s still alive and active.
