I don't really understand asking for radio singles. Radio hits really mean nothing at this point.

I would have pushed AHAP when the remix dropped. otherwise, there wasn't anything on the album naturally gaining momentum to send to radio, necessarily. ALIEN was the frontrunner when the album dropped, but they focused on getting BREAK MY SOUL to #1 and keeping it there, as they should.

had she dropped music videos, performances, remixes without doing anything else, that would be weird. but currently it's apparent that she's not interested in chasing hit songs and isn't willing to do anything to promote a single, so I don't see the point in sending a song to radio for a #73 Hot 100 peak. all the songs charted and got their peaks already.

How much does it take to send a song to radio and officially mark it as a single? 🧐

Why do you all talk about Beyoncé like she’s in her 70’s?

People in her group like Shakira who have also been doing this forever are promoting.

This is about longevity, MJ still has influence due to his presence with music.

Like for-real, they don’t want Bey to gain younger fans apparently.

younger fans? she wouldn't gain those even if she uploaded 5 tiktoks per day. :rip: As Adele put it: "If everyone's making music for the TikTok, who's making music for my generation? Who's making the music for my peers?". I'm sure she feels the same way.

it's nothing about her not gaining new fans, it's more so because we have seen her do it so many times and now the music industry is very open with how they keep moving the goal posts to be successful and relevant. she has already played by their rules for so many years. it was a pretty big deal when '4' happened because that was truly the beginning of her departure of following the music formula and taking control of her career.

You can quantify that radio hits= higher album sales, increase in concert ticket sales, etc Especially for major artists like Beyoncé.

Who said anything about TikTok music? Most artists aren’t doing that lol, TikTok is just gravitating to it like cuff it and alien superstar.

If Beyoncé wants to go back to performing in arenas or concert halls, I guess she’s on the right track.

but what has any of that to do with us wanting things to happen and getting content from her ?

and lol tiktok music being mentioned like absolutely nobody asks for that:rip:

The way y’all are talking about Beyoncé like she’s a new artist. Be serious for once. This woman can retire today! She has reached her commercial peak and doesn’t really care enough to maximize on it at this stage of her career. I can’t blame her. She was everywhere in the 2000s. I feel like if y’all experienced her during those years you would not be saying some of the things you are now.

Beyoncé will end up touring arenas and concert halls if she tours for long enough. It's the natural course of things, look at Madonna. Nothing wrong with it.

If she's not worried about it I don't know why you should be.

not really. no one and I mean no one is listening to the radio to find new music these days. radio mostly chases TikTok hits and big releases like BREAK MY SOUL.

so many artists have radio singles that climb up to the 30's and 20's, do nothing and fall down. if a song isn't hitting by itself, radio adds very little to its success (or the album's and tour's).

Beyoncé is past her radio prime. even a major smash like CUFF IT got stuck at #8 on pop radio and #4 on all-genre.

what is the point in officially pushing a song to an embarrassing peak and doing nothing with it? I think her strategy is that she'd rather have 2 successful radio singles than 2 successful, 1 moderate, 2 non-factor singles just so we have something new to complain about on ATRL :dies: because guess what? if she sent one more single with no promo, we would still be complaining!

They probably just got it to #1 and the radio programmers didn't want to keep it on power rotation anymore after that

well, apparently she asked for BMS to be removed from the radio last august. chart twitter posted that when it happened.

No one is expecting her to promote like her early days, but she goes out of her way to be a contrarian or to sabotage herself. Everyone is just asking for the bare minimum. Actually not even the bare minimum, we are begging for the bottom of the barrel :rip:

Besides, thinking like yours is why there’s so much ageism in Pop culture, not accusing you of that but this is how it starts. Beyoncé has so much power and is in a unique position to reshape what it means to be a Pop star in their 40s but she’s not rising to the occasion.

BMS being pulled from radio is one of the weirdest rumors :rip:

might sound like an a**hole saying this but a lot of you new fans want 2002-2010 Beyonce and unfortunately that will never happen again. she's definitely beyond the gimmicks and content just to stay relevant or have an album chart.it's just not happening.

I don't think she "pulled" BMS from radio, that's a fan made concept to explain how fast it was dropping like a rock with no promo, no music video, nothing in sight.

I'm pretty sure a lot of fans in here have already stated they aren't expecting early 2000's Beyonce yet the opposing opinions always start with that narrative. It's either that or Bey is old and doesn't care.

Honey this whole era thus far has been a gimmick, just a terrible one :rip:

no one but me is asking for her to do old school promo like be on every talk show subjecting herself to Tyra-type inane interviews for the sake of a chart placement

is it really that outrageous to just want her/her team to like… bare minimum get the songs where more people can hear them (playlisting + radio)?

Exactly, her whole gimmick is being an exclusive brand yet want everyone to purchase ivy park.

Right, the Spotify performance tells us the song just burned out quickly, it was soon being outcompeted by album tracks with no radio presence or single treatent. No conspiracy needed lol.

Actually yes, the proof is not only in the pudding but it’s in the actual data of the industry. We can decipher who are only radio artists (Jason derulo) and the artists like Bey where radio plus album both align. And those that are only radio personas lack identity and don’t have a fanbase.

DIL, IASF, Bday (after irreplaceable took off), and a little bit of self titled due to drunk in love. All examples of radio hits and Beyoncé album eras assisting in multi platinum album sales and increase tour revenue. That’s undeniable.

How are people going to claim she’s past her radio prime when she took herself out with self titled and lemonade? She just now after 10 years added a single to radio with success. Since then the sales have been subpar.
