I find it interesting that she puts emphasis on the track number and notes it as “6. Break My Soul” on all her platforms, 6 weeks before the release date. I highly doubt that there’s going to be 6 tracks counting down to “1” or anything crazy but I’m just wondering what could be the reasoning behind that.

I think it might have to do with the beginning being kinda abrupt. Like, the previous song might actually finish with the beginning of this one.

  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

    I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Most people I’m around/follow are very urban. Currently I’m seeing a lot of positive reviews. Even if they think its mid – the fact she’s back and with new music is overshadowing it. Those who instantly rejecting it will grow on or they will wait for the next single.

I don't get the need for B to stay loyal for urban/R&B audiences because she has 6/6 albums based on those sounds. Additionally, she also had 4 albums with DC that is R&B/urban leaning. Now that she's 25th year in her career I think it's time for her to try something unusual because why not?

Ok so I already loved it from first listen, gave it a few replays after. Then gave it a little break and just came back to it. It's just getting better and better :jonny5:

I needed that “everybody” in her upper register at the end throughout the song. When I was dragging Drake for being too monotone a few days ago. :deadbanana:

I still love the song though. It gets better after each listen. We just need the visuals now.

She does a lot of things differently live, and often changes the key. She’d never record a song she can’t execute well live. I’m sure the BET performance will devour :WAP:

Living.

Still pinching myself that she's back (when just a week ago it felt like we were looking at 2023) AND that it's House-inspired too. She literally made a point of avoiding the EDM wave in the late 00s and 2010s and dives in now in her own unique way. It's a lot to take in...in the best way.

Excited for all that's to come.

Surely, there has to be a BET something?!

In my gut, I'm thinking an "appearance"...or the unveiling of the Netflix trailer.

Because I stand by my stance that I'm not sure she's live performance ready yet, I could imagine at best a Be Alive at the Oscar's tea, where she gives some kind of pre-shot performance that she's added all the bells and whistles to. Almost like a "Beyonce live from the Ballroom in WeHo". Either way, we'll get our extra streaming that can run concurrent with the video for that maximum second week lift (because of the mid-week drop/Drake bomb).

In any case, I'm a Happy Stan!

Oh and the Chart Hive in me is GAGGGING at the #1 placement on TTH. It'll inevitably change on Friday with new releases. But maybe not, as there are no other BIG BIG guns coming that would knock her off or too far down.

Columbia and co are leaning tf in and I'm so here for it.

Really keen to see what the radio strategy is, because there will no doubt have to be a shorter mix for them?

Also... lol

This whole old school vibe totally lends itself to her selling the CD single with something like:

* Album Version
* Radio Edit
* Instrumental

Beyond it being creatively aligned, I'm sure there's a chart angle that benefits too. #ChartHive

That would be cute! Here for it!

I need the MV by Friday. Also if Drake and Khaled release this Friday I‘m gonna sue

Hi Hive!

Even if i don't like the lead that much i'm still excited about the album. It will be so good.

It’s already no.30 on Apple Music US. That’s already a fantastic start.  If this gets sent to radio like within a week or less, we get the music video for Friday plus the BET performance on Sunday then it’s OVA! I could definitely see this becoming a summer hit.

Haven't keep up with charts but what is considered good nowadays? I know BTS couldn't crack top 80 though last week.

A house beat, over a gospel singing style with an infusion of bounce music. Beyoncé's musicality unmatched. Break my soul is fire!

if she did an entire house-influenced album that flows continuously à la Confessions on a Dance Floor I will combust :WAP:

I really don’t understand the bad reviews people are giving on here, but like always atrl is tasteless. The song is slaying the **** out of me. My god can’t wait for the video

The way these white Fagettes try to call this boring and tired and compare it to that Oreo lady when this is serving HOUSE CLASSIC is truly sth.

Also those "boring production" accusations - like what? There are so many layers here. Admittedly, they are rather subtle, but that's what you have in ears for. Bey is giving adlips, harmonies, rap, melismas, chants, choir, change of production.. like, check ur ears. This is GODLY
