Thanks for proving my point. :ahh:

You’d have to find one you can stick with. Or you can go back to sticking your tongue on boots.

girl cut the ****...you came in here quoting me looking for a debate unprovoked

if you were so unbothered...you should've kept looking at your show

I can multitask, pretty sure they teach that skill at Taco Bell. Now let’s get back to the topic on hand. How do you feel Beyoncé can rebuild her credibility as an ally to the LGBT+ community?

Your argument is actually the one that’s nonsense & weightless.  Regardless of both weight loss pills being driven by capitalism, is the mass production of both at minimum wage still not an issue of ethics?  And isn’t then ethics just a paradox, because mass production is not achieved without exploiting the poor — which is essentially one of the biggest problems of capitalism?

By your weight loss pill example, Beyoncé can perform in a country with human rights issues while loving the LGBTQ as opposed to someone performing there that chooses to do so that hates gay people?

Now, this was the worst take in this thread.  LOL!

All of these can be issues. A dangerous weight loss pill being promoted on IG can be an issue. A cheap labour force making it can be an issue. You don't have to resolve the cheap labour topic in order address the fact that a risky pill is being promoted. This zero sum game you operate on essentially translates to "nothing can be addressed or fixed unless everything is fixed all at once..." And to put it lightly, its nonsense, literally nothing in the world works that way.

Regarding your paragraph underneath, I don't even know what you're talking about.

Okay so if I'm drinking with my friends before we go out, I'm so into it.

But if I'm in my house or just driving down the road, it's an immediate skip.

like I said. Unserious.

:lmao:

See.  And this is why the whole

human rights and ethics conversation is just so unserious until we all keep it a buck across the board on how much of what we love from pop stars comes to us at the expense of poor people in abusive working conditions, that go home to poverty.

This argument is much like the never ending capitalism debate.  In theory, being a billionaire is unethical, or supporting multi billion corporations that mass produce items due to supply chains, under paid workers, warehouse conditions, etc.

Yet we still go out and spend our money on these items that uphold these very institutions we say are unethical.  Like the irony of making posts or tweeting critique on iPhones that someone somewhere probably helped create in a 18 hour work day for 2 cents an hour or something.

Beyoncé performing in Dubai for an hour, flying private and what that does to the environment, mass producing Adidas clothing (we can unpack this for days), being a billionaire, etc.  They’re all things you can pick apart and find ethical issue with.

If her ethics upset you over Dubai, it might be time to step back and consider moving on from celebrity worship & commercialism altogether, because this is what it entails.  And we’re all complicit in it.   And that’s the truth.  Truth hurts.

Where the hell have you been? :deadbanana:

Well Kylie’s white so we cannot expect the same route to forgiveness to work for a black woman. I think she should price cap her tour tickets at $50 for any hive member that shows proof they purchased pose 4

Which Bey songs are we playing for NYE? Schoolin Life is always a staple in my playlist:gaycat4: it just perfectly symbolizes the celebration of growing up and enjoying each point of time in your life and it’s so fun and nostalgic, perfect song to reminisce about the past and look forward to the future:heart:

Single Ladies will be on there ofc, her last huge hit etc. and Cuff It is a necessity for all the couples smooching at midnight:heart:

If they got an all expenses paid invite to this show all their faux “morals” would fly out the damn window.

(for safety reasons, let me clarify that I do not drive.)

You chose a cheap and shaky weight loss pill comparison to drive a point home, and I flipped it right back on you.

Beyoncé can perform in Dubai while simultaneously loving gay people at large.  Much like someone pushing a weight loss pill for mass consumption that isn’t dangerous yet still dangerously impacts way of life at the labor level.

Don’t attack my stance if this is all you’re bringing to the table.
