LMFAO! I felt so awkward when everyone around me sat down during Plastic & Virgo’s Groove. I almost sat down too, but I said NAH! That’s y’all business!

I think The Big 3 gets cut because from Plastic Off The Sofa onward, the only song that’s not brand new Renaissance material is Naughty Girl — and Drunk if she does The Big 3. That’s 8 new songs back to back. I didn’t notice it when I saw her from CR in Chicago, because I was surrounded by stans…. but the stretch from Plastic Off The Sofa felt challenging for the casual fan when I saw her from a non-floor seat in Phoenix. I think it’s more of a show momentum thing and keeping the audience engaged with songs they instantly recognize.

I honestly don’t know a thing! I’m just as hype and guessing like everyone else. A friend of mine is friends with someone who worked on set for one of the shoots. And they had to style this person. No idea what it’s for. But when you remember the story of her wanting to shoot Britney, and the tip about Keke Palmer & Regina Hall filming together, it all starts to paint a picture.

This is amazing! LMFAO! Paul Reubens being in the visuals is hilarious. RIP. The cameo I’ve been sworn to secrecy is just as bizarre. So, this tracks! My prediction? The celebs are all of her neighbors in the town of ECHOVILLE. I know it’s hard, but give her some grace. This is going to be so great!

I understand, but it reminds me of this story from THR (July 2023). https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/beyonce-scraps-50-songs-album-590765/amp/ It reads as though she was scrambling and couldn’t figure it out, but a few weeks later she started shooting music videos. Basically, we’ve been here before. Maybe this article was true in the sense that the direction changed. But the added context of 4 being her lowest seller and the writers being affected (most made the album) painted a doom & gloom narrative. When people can’t figure out her wave, they seem to try and fill in the blanks. Reputable source or not, though, I don’t believe everyone just passed on it. But it’s cool if you and anyone else does.

YOU don’t have to disregard a thing. Nor did I ever imply anyone needed to. I just don’t buy it.

Who cares? It’s not commentary on him, it’s his source. Reputable publications and people get bad intel all the time. TMZ has accidentally reported people being dead before. It happens.

Yeah, I mean I’m open to the possibility of her going in asking for $200M and everyone looking upside her head in the meeting like GIRL! But I personally think the project is ambitious, lengthy, star cameo packed and beyond the scale of anything she’s ever done. Everyone is antsy, so they assume something has gone wrong. It’s just taking a lot of time. In the middle of all this, she had a tour to work on. Not making excuses, but she has a lot on her plate. Im sure, for better or worse, she wants it to be perfect. I’m never believing everyone is just passing, though. Give me a break.

LMFAO! This mystery “source” is no different than a Deuxmois blind item. One legitimate piece of info like a director or cameo to establish some sort of legitimacy. And then go off the rails with everything else. ECHOVILLE has been rumored to be jampacked with star cameos. There’s one in particular that I can’t say, but none of you will see it coming. I don’t have any tea — just this cameo. And I can only imagine who else. There‘s absolutely no way multiple streaming giants passed. Please.
  10. XXX. replied to Kisuke's topic in Base
Period! And I understand that the source is speculating, but they weren’t speculating that studios passed on it. They reported that as fact. It’s giving “I have one piece of solid info, so I created an entire storyline to go with it”.
  11. XXX. replied to Kisuke's topic in Base
I understood. I’m just saying it that doesn’t make sense to report/speculate that studios passed on it and when asked why, the answer being “Maybe she wasn’t happy with it”. For me, that calls the entire piece into question. She had a viewing for potential buyers, but there’s no deal because she didn’t like it? Saying something that absurd as the “source” calls into question, for me, everything else. I believe Nadia is one of the directors. And that’s it.
  12. XXX. replied to Kisuke's topic in Base
My only issue with the article is that it reads sort of like conjecture in the same breath of trying to report studios passed on it. You can’t report something was passed on because studios felt there was no replay value, but then in the next line say there’s no deal because Beyoncé might be unhappy with the finished product. That makes it all sound like speculation as to why it hasn’t dropped. Nevertheless, I’m just happy it’s being reported. Maybe we’re close.

No, bro I wish!!! I just saw her on Sunday in Chicago. In Club Renny. What a show! It is confirmed that I will stan this woman forever.

I think it’s really coming. The trailer at the very least. I also think Tina’s divorce announcement was timed perfectly. A day later she has a new record out rolling into the visual trailer or film.

I think “Echoes” is serving double duty as an album track on UTOPIA, while also serving as the official “soundtrack/original song” to her film, ECHOVILLE. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and for Beyoncé to post a feature with its own artwork depicting the imaginary newspaper from the imaginary town she created in her visuals 1 day before the year anniversary of her album? After recently trademarking 8 registrations for ECHOVILLE? It all just feels too on the nose. I’m imagining she talked to Travis and let him know what she had planned July 29, as to not step on his toes. This way, “Echoes” is now attached to the current #1 album, while also being the title track of her film. I could be wrong, but this time, I don’t think so. The trailer or full film is definitely coming tomorrow. It’s going down at MetLife.

I agree, although I feel we’re give or take saying the same thing. I do acknowledge it’s nearly impossible to vet if voters are closet racists or would never vote for Black pop stars and rappers. Your last paragraph is what I respect about her the most. And she takes it all in stride. But at the same time, it’s not lost on me she’s not really in a full stop disrespect situation to publicly call out the Grammys or stop attending. She’s continuously most nominated (already twice this decade) and is on the verge of having the most wins of all-time. It’s a unique position and honor to have almost 30 trophies, but it gets weird when you remember she’s continuously snubbed for the top awards.

I agree 100%! You put into words exactly how I’ve felt about the Grammys over the last several years. You hit it on the head exactly with the racially coded vibe of telling Beyoncé she’s great, but not great enough to sit amongst her white Pop peers that have swept the General field multiple times, won ROTY/SOTY ceremonies in a row and won AOTY 2-3x. It’s insulting and flat out racist. In 2021, when they stopped the show to tell her she broke the record, I felt second hand embarrassment for some reason. Maybe because, like you said, I’m a switched-on fan, and the moment just felt like a direct response to the backlash of 25 beating Lemonade. Like, “Seeee! We love Beyoncé! We don’t have a race problem! She has more Grammys than everyone!!!!!” I ended that ceremony with a really strange feeling that I can’t put into words. Sure, Savage and Black Parade weren’t the runaway front runners in General that year, but it still just left me with an ugly taste in my mouth. It felt rather transparent, I guess. I really hope that she wins this year, obviously, but I’ve made peace with the fact that it doesn’t change anything for her moving forward. It doesn’t hurt her other than the haters dying to laugh at the “4x AOTY loser”, but like you’ve been saying, it just confirms more about the Grammys. But after this ceremony, it’ll speak louder than ever on where they stand with Beyoncé.

Not necessarily. This is a quote from a Grammy voter in a recent article. At surface level, you could say this is just ignorant, because not only does a huge percentage of rap contain original and live music, it’s a damn lie! But beneath the surface, this particular comment (rap or not) is teetering the line of a micro aggression and shows the Grammys have a race problem. You don’t go 24 years without a Black woman winning AOTY, otherwise. Sure, you can talk about instrumentation, songwriting and whatever convenient goal post they move in any particular year, but ultimately, Black pop-stars and rappers are just not respected by many Grammy voters. And that comment, for me, sums up perfectly why we always end up with the results we do.

I love reading your posts, and I want your take on something. Sorry if it’s already been discussed. Ben Winston and Trevor Noah are already talking to the media about the possibility of Beyoncé becoming the most awarded Grammy winner ever and what a historic moment that would be. Do you find that a backhanded way of giving her a *moment* without giving her THE moment? I have such a complicated feeling around them stopping the show to honor her while only giving her “genre awards”. It’s an honor, no doubt, but it also feels like playing in her face. I imagine that’s why she was ambitious and submitted Renaissance and Break My Soul in Dance (especially the album). Renaissance would have been an easy win in Progressive R&B this year. No competition. In my mind, she at least wanted to walk away feeling as though she accomplished/achieved something new instead of another R&B trophy, if nothing in the General field. Aw, that kind of makes me sad if that’s the case. They’ve played with her so long.

In SONY’s civil suit against the hacker, they cited “irreparable damages” to their relationship with Beyoncé. I know she cussed them tf out. So, I’ve always been surprised she stayed there when it was time to renegotiate her contract. It was never made public, but I’d bet they paid her an insane amount of money to stay — even as just distribution.

Post from a user on PopJustice @MercurioCan you confirm if it’s still Wednesday?
  24. Keeps? It's literally the first time, and Blue is featured on the song. Edited to add -- And if you're referring to "Be Alive" at the Oscars (which wasn't live), look up the lyrics and message of the song.
