@Dreajae can't quote but I wanted to mention that SZA's album is only available to purchase as a digital download. I think she would have a much, much better sales figure had she released vinyl especially. people aren't inclined to download digital albums anymore, there's really no point.

she's unstoppable. let's not downplay this — having consistent streaming (even without having smash pop hits) is great for an artist's legacy and success. the impact of having a fanbase that goes hard and buys your album erodes quickly if you don't get the wide-reaching streaming support — look at that one Lady's EDM album, for example.

SZA is doing incredible numbers. 

 

A RnB girl doing that good is a great thing. We shouldn't take haters' bait so easily. 

It never left the BB 200 cause of streams. Not sales. I'm not arguing the success of her debut or sophomore album. 

 

People make the argument about physicals for literally every artist. They did it for Doja, Lil Nas X, Drake and several others. Once some of those artists did release physicals, it didn't help the album major. 

 

Like I said, you can always grow on streaming. But if you don't already have that physical sales base prior to 2015, it doesn't make much sense to prioritize it. Which is why labels don't for Gen Z based artists. 

Lemonade is such a masterpiece. It really is a masterful work

 

Pray You Catch Me also remains the most flawless way she even opened an album. The last 30 seconds or so before the Hold Up transition are superb.
