The way I want to skip church girl every time it comes on knowing that Beyoncé wants to push it as the next single.

Same. I’m really hoping it flops into oblivion :gaycat2: It’s what she deserves.

Me and Thique have such a love-hate relationship. Something about the intro just irks me and makes me want to skip the song, but once I bite my tongue and let the whole song play through I’m reminded how much of a mega bop it is:loud:

!!! Was just thinking that this morning :wave2:

Nnnn, let me not comment on that video. As long as Sis is healthy, happy and fit enough to step on stage in 9months, we're good :giraffe:

I hate the intro too. It's so corny.

But then it gets so good.

Thique is godly, I don't get the dislike for it at all

It was braggadocios-ly addressing the idea that she needs streaming numbers when she objectively didn't at the time and arguably still doesn't because NO considerable profit is made from putting projects on Spotify and streaming services in general and the real money is coming from touring, brand deals, investments etc. The point was that "flopping" in the charting sense only affects artists that lack the capital and fanbase to keep their engine running, and that UNIT SALES are superior and where your song is placed on the chart is an illusion, cause theoretically, a #50 can out-sell a #1 and be more profitable when factoring everything accordingly with the revenue - expense = profit formula.

Lemonade is now on Spotify for bragging rights, not profit bragging rights but she decided to put it on Spotify a long time afterwards in the same sense of how eventually movies get converted to discs to be sold and/or are transferred to streaming platforms: It's giving Gone Girl and Spider-Man vibes. She is making it accessibly free to the GP after the Lemonade era has ran its course. Black Is King is still exclusive on Disney+.

I don't have an argument on CDs since I'm not sure how that works and thus am not totally clear on what the overall point is with bringing that up, but the "self-sabotaging" only proves she could care less about success. I'm not following your point.

How did she torpedo Renaissance? She didn't pull every trick imaginable in the book prior and during its launch. Moreover, her bragging about success stems from impact/actual money generation. She could keep sending us a barrage of songs that will flop and she'll still have the means/capital to be shooting song after song after song that'll be classical hits, which proves the point that she can do whatever she wants since there are no ramifications to "LOSING". The fact that she had to pay all those producers/composers/sampled artists on Renaissance and past projects only to NOT spawn optimal charting placements proves the point that she does NOT care.

I will admit though, with Renaissance, it seems as though she has a longevity streak to prove and she is capitalizing on that to an EXTENT and only time will tell what she has up her sleeves in terms of fully delivering this album. It's more of, "why not?" rather "OMG!!! I HAVE TO DO THIS OR ELSE IT'S OVER" type of deal. Her and her team can NOT be this oblivious to just shun Alien and Cuff It. The fact she even had the mind and ears to put those two songs on the album says everything. If she seriously has nothing in store for Alien and Cuff It, I'm not sure what position I would take in terms of how she is handling this era and what that means in regards to her opinion on charting/streaming.

Wait though, her handling of this era at this point should prove her caring less has always been a thing since 4? I'm confused.

What should we be grateful for? She gives a service that we exchange money or streams for. So far, so good. She's not God or a cult leader, we don't have to bow down to her autel even when she does the bare minimum or making dumb decisions.

Some of you literally worship her and it's concerning.

If that's the case, maybe staying off the internet where people will have dissenting opinions about her will do you good.

It's the irony of ppl passive-aggressively trying to 'eat me up' by misinterpreting my post. Quote my, hoee! This stan sense of entitlement and such visceral emotions for a women That told you all nearly a decade ago to stop trying to figure her out and then you go on to delusion yourself with EXPECTATIONS and wild fantasies of 'what should happen', or 'this makes the most sense' and 'she's shown a pattern to'. Ya'lll drink yourselves full of anticipation based on nothing but conjecture and hyperbole. I've been coming back to the base every few weeks and I always return to see ya'll in full THROTTLE lamentation about the same ****.. gah damn. It's really not that serious. I'm sure ya'll have other ppl whose music you love just as much that you can enjoy or find other new music to also celebrate. I've stopped trying to figure that women out LONNGGG ago. I'm talking 2015/16 waiting for lemonade.. and then comes the FORMATION video. This is coming from a person that thought Beyonce was at the peak of her peak 4 years prior. I realized then that she was like Frank (even better because atleast SHE releases MUSIC.. franklin frustrates me yall)

anyways, I just stopped caring in the aspect about when's and how's. Like Frank and some alot of my other faves like Rihanna isn't giving me ANYTHINGGGG. I'm atleast grateful that Beyonce is one of those artists that I can just enjoy fr.. The music is enough for me these days when it comes to artists. Especially this crazy ***** she does **** on her time, she's stubborn and she's passionate and she's the epitome of 'I said what I said' as it pertains to HER choice of direction or medium she uses to rollout this project. Take it for what it is.. You're just going on in circles and revealing some other deeply rooted issues with yourselves and stan culture in general. Let's call a spade for a spade. Ya'll use to be funny and the atmosphere was a bit lighter.. Now ya'll acting like SLeeping Beauty's 7 dwarves in this mf.

Relax.

Oh and I meant 'grateful' in the sense of compared to most artists who we all like The quality hasn't dropped and she's THOROUGH. The hive has it good. I can longer play Blonde and Anti.. drake's been trash sense 2015. Only my soundcloud artists holding me down now.

THIQUE is great, I love how many times it switches up. the transition into ALL UP IN YOUR MIND eats as well. it's a combination only bootylicious intellectuals can appreciate. :WAP:

How are you going to voluntarily enter a thread with stans, knowing full well that stan culture is toxic, and then throw a tantrum when you see said toxicity on display? That’s on you, baby.

We are going to continue lamenting on the same stuff because there’s nothing else to lament on.

Please understand that our relationship with Beyoncé is transactional. We support her and buy her stuff, and in return she’s supposed to deliver us quality music (which she does) and give us a proper era. When it becomes a situation in which she expects us to continue buying her music, tour tickets, merchandise, Ivy Park, and to support her many other business ventures, but can’t even give us the basic minimum in return, her stans and fans in general have a right to express their disappointment.

The fact is, some of you simply can’t stand any criticism of Bey and that’s when it becomes cult-like and creepy to me. She is not a God, she is not without fault, she is not perfect, and she is certainly not without ego. She is undoubtedly a very talented artist (and we ALL stan her for that reason) but we are allowed to criticise as we see fit. This is not the church of Scientology and this is not a monolith.

That little voice change with the pitched vocals is one of the highlights of the entire album

It's ******* brilliant

its nice to see the love for Thique...such a sweaty ass shaking bop

unpopular opinion...the pitch change is my least fav part & messes up the flow IMO

"and then throw a tantrum when you see said toxicity on display? That’s on you, baby." - Baby, I made a statement and once I realized I was misinterpreted I clarified myself and further elaborated what I meant. You either understand it or you don't. My initial post is in fact a response to the tantrum throwing and dwarf-like behavior in here. Ya'll actin like those Kpop crazies

"and give us a proper era." - and therein lies the problem. imo, NO ARTIST, especially someone's who's consistently given themselves to music 30+ years is obligated to give any 'proper era' or whatever that means in ya heads.. what the hell is a era in 2022 anyways lol. The thing is Beyonce continues to tell you in her interviews, documentaries etc every few years that for better or for worst it will always be on HER terms. Blessing or curse be damned. I'm moreso flabbergasted that this observation has escaped you all SO long and ya'll post here nearly every week.. alot of you everyday. Truth be told, themusic is all that we should expect from any artist. You're right. As a consumer the relationship is transactional.. she delivers the music and you either listen/purchase or come to a tour (when she decides when to jumpstart) or you don't. That is where it truly ends. Not just for her but for any artist.

"her stans and fans in general have a right to express their disappointment." - You're right.. you are free to express said disappointment just as I'm free to make my own assertion as a Beyonce fan (not stan) myself that ya'll are delusional when ya'll get like THIS i.e- the past 3 months..

"some of you simply can’t stand any criticism of Bey and that’s when it becomes cult-like and creepy to me. You really have got me confused with someone else. I've never got into the stan back and forth and my posts CONSISTENTLY since 2014 has been strictly about the music/her skill as a singer it NEVER went past that.. the fact that you're painting a narrative that i'm some crazed fan because you think I'm shaming criticism all because I point out that alot of ya'll is WILDIN in here is ...something. Like I said it's the irony for mee

You sound like a very rabid and protective stan to me :cm:

It's easy for y'all to sit in here and tell Bey to stop "getting fillers", when you don't have the weight of the world on your shoulders to keep up a certain appearance. We don't know if she has had anything done to her face, and if she has - good for her, because that's her choice. She went through a life-altering pregnancy and now has 3 kids to care for. Her appearance is going to change.

The body policing in here is absolutely disgusting tbh. She doesn't deserve it, especially from people who are meant to be her FANS :rip:

AUIYM is also 10/10

It's a great progression from Jealous
